hnaz: going forward, no support will be offered to folks who deviate from the supported setup. people were warned many many many many times specifically to NOT do what you did
<hnaz>
chadmed: you mean running gentoo? or not using the right kernel branch?
<hnaz>
but yeah fair enough, it's a pretty customized setup in general i suppose, and you guys have limited cycles for support. understood

hnaz: yeah i dont mean gentoo, happy to help out there :)
<chadmed>
just specifically when we say "please dont enable speakers before we say its okay to" and you do it anyway
<mps>
new with 6.6-14 when running alsamixer I've got 'cannot open mixer: Host is down
<stintel>
chadmed: so I've got speakers working on my J415 but the bass sounds horrible. I've all the stuff in place, sys-apps/asahi-meta w/ USE=audio, pw 1.0.0, media-libs/lsp-plugins-1.2.6-r1 from your overlay etc. but the bass sounds horrendously distorted. is there an easy way to check if everything is actually configured as expected in pipewire?
<stintel>
speakersafetyd is running, so is pipewire, pipewire-pulse and wireplumber, but these things are basically a black box to me. how to confirm all the magic bits are actually properly confirmed in them? like dsp, bankstown?
<stintel>
s/confirmed/configured/

if there are no file collisions it should just all wokr
<chadmed>
can you run asahi-diagnose and paste the output somewhere?
<chadmed>
ive have some stuff to pull into the overlay
<chadmed>
stintel: please try update to latest asahi-audio
<chadmed>
i just pushed it to the overlay
<chadmed>
we had an issue where a feature was causing hard clipping at low volumes
<stintel>
ah, and I started with very low volume as a precaution
