just in case this is Asahi related somehow, here is the error message and gdb backtrace: https://paste.osau.re/z05
<maz>
kit_ty_kate: been using FF 105 (debian package) for some time without issue. this is in a 4kB guest though, which could hide a number of sins.
<jannau>
no problems with ff 106 (alarm pkg)
<mps>
also no problem with FF 106 on alpine linux
<kit_ty_kate>
jannau: do you have 106.0, 106.0.1 or 106.0.2 ? (i have the later)
<jannau>
106.0.1

marcan: I saw you claim great battery life with s2idle. I built asahi-wip with DCP and latest m1n1 to test this out. Put my M1 mba to sleep with 77% and in the morning, it did not respond anymore. I plugged in power as I thought it was empty, and after some moments, it did boot up. But when it was booted, it claimed 29% battery. A few days ago I tried suspend with ~30% battery before going to sleep, and in the morning completely empty. Not sure
<joske>
what I'm doing wrong.
<joske>
Desktop is GNOME on wayland
<joske>
short suspends work fine

joske: I never said s2idle actually worked
<marcan>
I only tested simply leaving the machine idle
<marcan>
it's entirely possible and likely that s2idle is triggering issues that actually drain the battery under whatever circumstances
<marcan>
s2idle is only tested not to crash, nobody has done power measurements in s2idle yet
<marcan>
but also 30% battery with my numbers means it'll only last ~9h or so, so assuming you get a good night's sleep, it's entirely expected that you'd wake up to it empty
<marcan>
I never said it was like macOS already, the next big ticket item is cpu deep idle
<marcan>
77% -> 29% is actually kind of sensible for overnight s2idle too, so I don't know what made it crash but assuming the 29% on startup was real, that's not unreasonable power draw either

Hello?
<j`ey>
Hi
<nvflash>
I installed Asahi a few days ago, but the keybord doesn't work with Grub.
<tpw_rules>
which machine?
<nvflash>
M2 Macbook Pro 13'
<tpw_rules>
i think that's expected
<assman>
anyone here use tailscale ssh with asahi? running am m1 mac mini. I'm having an issue with the ssh connection being immediately closed and i'm not sure if it's a bug with the arch package, tailscale, or some issue with aarch64
<nvflash>
I found a twitter post:
<nvflash>
Asahi Linux @AsahiLinux Pssst - the keyboard on M2 Macs now works in U-Boot and GRUB with the latest uboot-asahi from the asahi-dev repository*. (This one's for you, Linus!) * We need to fix a theoretical kernel race later today, but it already works in practice.
<nvflash>
Can I pull this fix somehow?

the one in the repo should have the m2 fixes, asahi-v2022.07-3
thelounge7571340 has quit [Remote host closed the connection]

I think the version in non-dev repo should have the fixes as well
<j`ey>
yeah dev and non-dev have the same version
<jannau>
have you updated the system already (pacman -Syu)? I think the install image is older than the packages

If I want to update asahi (install was march) do I need to rerun the installer or is just pacman update enough?
<tpw_rules>
just pacman update should be enough
<tpw_rules>
rerunnig the installer can't do anything except completely wipe your install, and i don't think it can even do that

okay, I just wondered about the m1n1 installation, there have probably been changes
