noob question - I finally got around to trying out the speakers yesterday. I remember from earlier that someone had posted profiles for some of the laptops and a howto of some sorts for the eq, but for the life of me can't seem to locate it now

i think asahi-audio hasn't caught up with the new kernel

essentially you need to point it to hw:0,1 instead of hw:0,0 and also set the Speaker Playback Mux to Secondary (these is an ALSA control knob)

ah yeah the pipewire config fragment that gets installed at /etc/pipewire/pipewire.conf.d/ needs a bit of tinkering to work properly with the kernel changes atm

axboe: btw that error message you get is when you open a PCM device that isn't routed anywhere

Hi, I noticed in M1, the framebuffer console runs at full resolution, but text/font is big, so I guess there some scaling being done by kernel, anyone can point me to where this happens? I would like to tune font size

there is no scaling, but a big font is loaded by default. you can use setfont to change it. not sure how to change the default, probably depends on distro

setfont worked as expected. I actually didn't have a proper font (Gentoo comes with ugly 8x8, 8x16 fonts only). But I installed terminus. For people that prefer to use console/terminal instead of graphical desktop like me, I would suggest to use "ter-h22b" as font. It's good enough to not burn your eyes and provides good space, specially for things like TTY Emacs.

axboe: the fix is trivial, you just need to set the target-node property near the end of the file to point to pro-audio-0-1 instead of 0-0, and then in alsamixer make sure the speakers are on the secondary mux
