(AGMS-Cottage) Heh, if Haiku did that it may get in the news too. But Haiku is too international for UK specific events I think. Could be an optional add-on that fits in the theming system somewhere.
* phschafft
nods.
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) For now you can manually do it! Go to preferences/appearance and change Window Border to black.
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) It actually looks reasonable.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
ahhh
<phschafft>
AGMS-Cottage: feel free to tell me what Canada does/did as soon as you know if you like. :)

(AGMS-Cottage) So far just the prime minister making a speech, and other politicians at different levels of government. New postage stamp in 3, 2, 1... :-)
<phschafft>
postage stamps are always a good thing. whatever just happened. ;)
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) Some confusion at a citizenship ceremony today, where you pledge allegiance to the monarch. They used Charles III and ""

(AGMS-Cottage) Some confusion at a citizenship ceremony today, where you pledge allegiance to the monarch. They used Charles III and "King".
<phschafft>
hm.
<AlienSoldier>
AGMS the new king will be all ears :)
<AlienSoldier>
also we will probably havwe new $20 bill
<LinuxUserHaiku>
heh, running Haiku on my laptop was 50/50 :)
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) AlienSoldier, in some ways it's a giant re-branding operation. New logos everywhere.
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) Got the live Haiku on a USB stick working on your laptop, LinuxUserHaiku? Best way to test it before actually installing.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
hehe i installed it on usb stick(not livecd)
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and first goal was videodriver
<LinuxUserHaiku>
i booted with vesa mode upgraded system and volia! intel graphics driver began working!!!

<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) Yup, AMD and Intel integrated graphics are the most supported in Haiku.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and this laptop also has nvidia card :)
<LinuxUserHaiku>
heh, in linux nvidia most supported
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) My new laptop has Intel integrated, AND nVidia. 6GB of video RAM in a 8GB machine, mostly unusable (Linux doesn't see the nVidia side).
<LinuxUserHaiku>
because when i was on linux i had amd card and when a long time passed graphical glithes appeared(on win7 everything is fine)
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and because this card is very old there was no amd drivers for linux
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and i changed it to nvidia
<LinuxUserHaiku>
my laptop has 6gb of ram
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and i'm very lucky with wifi card and sound
<LinuxUserHaiku>
because sound card is intel and wifi card is intel
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) Nice.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and i'm on wifi now
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and it has realtek ethernet card but it disabled in laptop with hardware way
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) I usually run Haiku in VirtualBox, so long as one of the emulated cards works, I'm fine. Also lets me do dual monitor with a really wide VNC virtual screen.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
i ran it on vbox too
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and in vmware player
<LinuxUserHaiku>
sad that there's no vbox for haiku :/
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) One of these days I should update the Haiku web site docs for VirtualBox with the Linux quirks I've found.
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) There were guest additions for Haiku, but I don't know if they compile any more.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
there's guest additions for haiku in haikudepot
<LinuxUserHaiku>
and there's also vmware tools in haikudepot
<AlienSoldier>
My AMD Kabini is still not supported :(
<LinuxUserHaiku>
@AlienSoldier have you got intel integrated graphics?
<LinuxUserHaiku>
@AlienSoldier did you try boot with fail-safe graphics?
<B2IA>
(AGMS-Cottage) Time to shut down over here, TTYL.
<LinuxUserHaiku>
haiku is really good os!
<LinuxUserHaiku>
it even can be used as daily driver :)
<AlienSoldier>
LinuxUserHaiku ut work in VESA, just not in native
<LinuxUserHaiku>
did you know that regular simple video can be very fun with reverse?
<phschafft>
hm?
<LinuxUserHaiku>
