Currently trying to compile a game that uses Squirrel for scripting, however it gets hung up on not being abkle to find the libraries for Squirrel.
<humdinger>
I normally try to stay away from those mega-ports. Cleaned out much stuff after trying all "freatured" packages.

Well Geany isn't that big, only what it needs :P
<humdinger>
it's still donloading stuff here.HaikuDepot, unfortunately, doesn't report any more what it does...
<humdinger>
transaction folder is at 328 MiB!
<humdinger>
Finished. Geany launches alright
<Begasus>
thanks, so it's a 32bit issue then
<Begasus>
if this could get fixed Bluefish is around the corner (getting the same errors there) :)

<Begasus>
latest AbiWord around the corner, buildmaster on 32bit almost done
<humdinger>
Claws works too at 64bit
<Begasus>
I think it's because wayland is now imported in gtk that I see the errors now, previous geany was build with xlibe
<humdinger>
When Beta4 is out, I'll install it from scratch and confine all ports-testing etc. to an extra installation on another partition to keep my 'production' system clean.
<prosy>
anyone here (still) knows the X11R6.3-BeOS package from the days back in 2001/2002 and if there is a working copy for haiku? I know, it's hopelessly outdated but maybe useful (at least for me (-: )
<x512[m]>
prosy: It is possible to build Xsdl for Haiku.

win8linux[m], try to add that in BUILD before make starts
<Begasus>
that builds the internal squirrel, so no need for our port in the recipe
<Begasus>
doesn't fix it though :)
<rennj>

why that test, and not eh, running a program that gives us sizeof((void*))?
<Begasus>
Molnija, if I knew how to, that test is the easy part :)
<Begasus>
in the Makefile they use getconf to get the CPU_BITS, but Haiku doesn't support LONG_BIT so we can't use that

I'm sorry to bother by asking, but I have a problem I couldn't get around and maybe someone already faced it. The SoftwareUpdater is failing to update things by requiring beta4, but I have all repositories set to beta3, so not sure why it's complaining

<Begasus> "win8linux, try to add that in..." <- The internal Squirrel source still isn't being built here, after adding this.
<Javanx>
Seems my problem with the updater was caused by haikuports repository, I temporarily disabled it. But I thought it would provide packages for the stable release, while instead it seems to be targeting beta4 already
<B2IA>
(AGMS) I don't think HaikuPorts has a specific bunch of packages for a particular release. It used to, but that was back in Beta2 days, I vaguely recall.
<B2IA>
(AGMS) And the HaikuPorter builder just gloms onto the version of Haiku you were building with, so if you build with Beta4, it starts requiring Beta4 things.

Atari's 50th Anniversary Collection Includes 100 Games, Interviews, and Addictive New Titles
<rennj>
Vctr Sctr apparently manages to combine updated versions of Asteroids, Lunar Lander, , and Tempest (in increasingly difficult waves). The article notes it's just one of six "reimagined" titles in Atari 50, but calls Vctr Sctr "a perfect brain-break game, an excuse to ignore the outside world for a quick, distracting burst of focused, high-energy chaos.
