<JayBlanc> Just popping in because I saw this diff on the next version branch, and I worry it's going to be an unweidly way to put cache alignment for each target? https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=commitdiff;h=8b4169f1c9cd5045bb49766c3e3bcb006ee9d986
<JayBlanc> It's quite a good idea to actually put the cache alignment in for each target, because it's something that is a known value for those targets. But it should probably be put into it's own config value, propbably in an included file, that gets appended to KERNEL_CFLAGS?
mzvd has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<JayBlanc> iirc, the compile makes a good best-guess at an appropriate alignment, based on what it's been told to target. But that's not very granular, and compilers don't know the details of every single hardware platform, so explicitly putting in an alignment for each target will probably see an improvement.

<mrkiko> mrnuke: congrats :D go ahead man!
<mrnuke> well, more like got around the vendor restricting ssh access to their fw image, to invoke commands directly via ssh
<mrnuke> scroll to "SSH method" :https://github.com/robimarko/openwrt/pull/47#issue-1268135130
<mrkiko> mrnuke: very nice! What mechanism does u-boot use to detect failed boots? A boot counter or something like that?
<mrkiko> mrnuke: in that case it would be great if we could have openwrt in both partitions to be able to recover the device
<mrnuke> mrkiko: I have no clue. It doesn't recover from bootloops. It might be as simple as checking the integrity of the 'kernel' UBI volume, and thst's it
<mrnuke> mrkiko: if you've been following my rants with robimarko, you will have noticed that we came to the conclusion the uboot on that board is horribly borked
<mrnuke> Any idea if you can have two initramfs images? Like how you have "IMAGES += factory.bin", but for initramfs?

<hurricos> mrnuke: which target do you need multiple initramfs images for?
<hurricos> Everything it does is implemented in Makefile magic, even if some very low-level particulars get deferred to a script or program
<hurricos> err, sorry. The image building process is implemented in Makefile magic, which is often unclear / hard to trace
