robclark changed the topic of #aarch64-laptops to: Linux support for AArch64 Laptops (Chrome OS Trogdor Devices - Asus NovaGo TP370QL - HP Envy x2 - Lenovo Mixx 630 - Lenovo Yoga C630 - Lenovo ThinkPad X13s - and various other snapdragon laptops) - https://oftc.irclog.whitequark.org/aarch64-laptops
<steev> clover[m]: i'm gonna push out a test branch for you - i'm getting dummy output again
<steev> but we did just have firmware updates from debian, so they may have done something.....
<clover[m]> okay
<steev> clover[m]: lenovo-x13s-v6.5-rc5-clover - give this a spin, it's johan's stuff, followed with the laptop defconfig (i haven't changed the options that he mentioned yet), some patches to set icc-bandwidth dynamically, add missing cpu idle states, and...the ASPM support from mani, that should shave some power usage
<steev> there are a few other things, but they are minor, once i know if it works fr you and it's just my firmware stuff is screwy, that'll be fine

<clover[m]> steev: hit a compile error: https://pastebin.com/Dg7fPF5d
<exeat> Just upgraded to bluez-5.68 and noticed the btmgmt misbehaviour...
<exeat> It fails to epoll its stdin (/dev/null in the systemd service), bails out, never executes the public-addr command, never sends to the BT socket, then epoll_waits for the response that will never arrive.
<exeat> (I'm sure the fix will be trivial as soon as someone suggests running "btmgmt foo </dev/null" to its maintainer)
<exeat> One of many possible workarounds: "ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/screen -d -m /usr/bin/btmgmt ..." :D

<clover[m]> anyway it works now steev. headphones still have a fuzzy sound though
<clover[m]> arch users can pick it up by switching to the rc kernel
<steev> clover[m]: hm, okay, i'll have to figure out why i'm getting dummy output then - as for the fuzzy sound, you can try reverting the headphone volume patch and see if just manually lowering it works

<erebion[m]> Hello, what should I read so I don't ask uninformed questions about Linux on the X13s? Currently trying to find current info on how to boot on that machine. So far I've tried Debian Stable, Testing, Weekly from 3 days ago. It's not easy to find info, so I'd be thankful for all links anyone might have. :)

<erebion[m]> For playing around I could use the image of the "Ubuntu Concept" team which just works. Does anyone know whether that is something official? Just for playing around with ARM I don't really care much whether it is Debian or Ubuntu. If I'm satisfied I will comtinue to research Debian later and figure things out. https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-concept/+archive/ubuntu/x13s
<konradybcio> it's official enough that they put their name on it ;)
<konradybcio> yes it's run by cannonical afaik
<erebion[m]> I'd really love to fimd an official link to it, then I'd use it without worrying too much. I mean, it's still Canonical (oof), but at least then officially.
<clover[m]> If I was running a debian derivative I'd probably choose Armbian first. PeppermintOS also has arm editions I'd be interested in trying
<steev> ehhh
<clover[m]> Just my opinion
<steev> i do wanna try it out at some point
<steev> have heard good things about it
<clover[m]> Same
