ajhalaney[m]: Looks like I've been disabling the remoteproc stuff by keeping it from loading its firmware, which is why its been working. Allowing it to load its firmware is what kills the boot process.
<ajhalaney[m]>
jlinton: /me decides to be positive and say yay at least that's identified...
<ajhalaney[m]>
I'm curious how that Ubuntu concept image works with USB boot (assuming it does) without neutering a bunch of support without DSP fw up and going

I hope the alarm maintainers can put ff116 in the repo's soon. It's in testing now on x64
<travmurav[m]>
I tried ff116 on alpine today, it detected venus but didn't seem to use it for h264, tho it's very possible I might miss some extra magic to push it over
<Jasper[m]1>
travmurav[m]: Is VP9 not supported yet or are we talking about msm8916 here?
<travmurav[m]>
about 7c, vp8 and 9 are there, ff spit them out in the logs but blacklisted them for some reason

travmurav: alpine may be iffy
<konradybcio>
i needed to recompile ffmpeg for example
<travmurav[m]>
yes won't be surprised
<travmurav[m]>
but well, I only took a quickest of the stabs for it this morning in case it magically works :D
<Jasper[m]1>
<travmurav[m]> "about 7c, vp8 and 9 are there..." <- Hmm, welp. Time to wait for it to tickle down I guess
<travmurav[m]>
to be clear, for me it's very likely some alpine ffmpeg thing, the original ff thread for v4l2 suggested switching to distro ffmpeg for ^ and it didn't help me
<Jasper[m]1>
Oh yeah sure, but I'm not about to compile FF on a X13s hahaha
<Jasper[m]1>
I think an update of either the audio drivers or firefox also fixed the skittering sound issues I had
<Jasper[m]1>
3.5mm is still over amplified though
<Jasper[m]1>
Also the "Pro Audio" think breaks it entirely hahaha
<steev>
Jasper[m]1: re the over amp - you can patch your kernel with the hack srini gave me, but it's just a workaround, and we should get it fixed properly
<steev>
i'm assuming you're using 6.5rc because 6.4 still has it applied
