<wiley[m]> "yup, got it working with both..." <- The updated x13s kernel seems to have removed too many kernel modules, causing my zram and ext4 fscrypt to not work. :(

Hmm an odd observation: On the box running 6.9.0-el2 I see the "ring buffer" issue with ath11k_pci even with firmware .41

<robclark> "hmm, https://www.phoronix.com/..." <- it has two fans, that's a bummer. my main motivator for an aarch64 laptop is the passive cooling capability
<JensGlathe[m]>
hmm this config thing with ubuntu build scripts stays evasive
<Jasper[m]>
<steveej[m]> "it has two fans, that's a bummer..." <- In the end you do get a higher tdp sku (probably)
<JensGlathe[m]>
I can force it to build my config only by debian/rules editconfigs (all cross compilers need to be installed) and import a pre-generated config. This actually stays and builds, and it also boots as expected.
<JensGlathe[m]>
giving a defconfig in debian.master/rules.d/arm64.mk doesn't change a thing.
<JensGlathe[m]>
the differences to defconfig seem to be recorded in debian.master/config/annotations
<steev>
so, the plot thickens. and i think we've found the real culprit
<JensGlathe[m]>
I din' do nothin
<steev>
nope :)

my boss said "have you tried compiling 3.11.5 and see what happens?"
<steev>
and i was like... i have not
<JensGlathe[m]>
oooh
<steev>
so i did and pretty dang close - 3m 39s

typical boss hint. You do and feel pretty dumb afterwards
