steev: Yes in USA it is quite expensive. Here in Germany the same model is available for pre-order with a fixed configuration for 1899.- EURO. That's about $1800, but only with a German keyboard.

i'll wait for rob to tell me how much battery life he gets (though i'm *probably* gonna try to get work to spring for a 64gb edition because this 16gb is not enough, and based on my attempt to load the 517MB svg, i don't think 32 is either for my needs)
