<mabiola> Does anyone have airpods that they're using with asahi?
<mabiola> pulseaudio doesn't seem to like them, and I'm not getting much success with pipewire either.
<mabiola> THe former is a matter of sound quality, not getting any audio in the latter, but they both pair/connect.

<j`ey> mabiola: also are you using 2.4 or 5 ghz wifi?
<M4t64[m]> airpods pro do connect and i can adjust between the modes (transparent & noise cancelling) by pressing the sides but it disconnects my 5ghz wifi connection
<M4t64[m]> also after i reboot existing bluetooth connections need to be removed & reset, which is pretty trivial tho

<mabiola> IcaroDextris[m]: I'm using i3, and I regard popping sounds as potentially hazardous. Would sooner not use audio.
<IcaroDextris[m]> mabiola: Popping due to the other Bluetooth connection, and not often, without the mouse connected no problem
<IcaroDextris[m]> So is more like an interference than an audio damage
<mabiola> j`ey: 2.4
<mabiola> I'll try again in a sec.
<IcaroDextris[m]> (I’ve checked it now because is some days I haven’t used it and the interference is gone, I’ve remembered now that I’ve had re-paired the headphones to solve it sorry for misleading you before)

<marcan> "popping" is just skipping due to packet loss, and is a normal thing on bluetooth audio (though it's worse here because btcoex isn't ready)
<marcan> if you regard "popping" as potentially hazardous, you should never use bluetooth audio, since they can always happen :)

<leif> So this build utilizes a btrfs boot subvolume and it works fine. https://github.com/leifliddy/asahi-fedora-builder I mean, there's a few trivial quirks with grubby and kernel-install, but nothing major.

<leif> So the asahi-fwextract, asahi-scripts, uboot-asahi, and update-m1n1 source rpms can be found here. https://www.leifliddy.com/asahi-linux/36/source/SRPMS/
<leif> I can put them all on gh no problem. Just need a couple days (I'm traveling atm)
<j`ey> leif: i mean the PKGBUILD equivalent
<leif> btrfs-convert instructions can be found here: https://github.com/AsahiLinux/asahi-installer/issues/71#issuecomment-1088853130
<leif> Aren't source RPMs the equivalent of a PKGBUILD?

<kwilczynski> A very odd question.
<kwilczynski> As I don't know from the top of my head.
<kwilczynski> Which PCIe generation M1/M2 supports?
<_jannau_> PCIe 4.0, so a single lane is fast enough for the 10 GbE adapter
<kwilczynski> marcan: We are looking to resurrect and old patch that adds 10 Bit tags support, mainly because server and consumer platforms are starting to show up with Gen4 and up slowly, so... sans broken firmware for serval hardware iterations... some people might benefit from this. I was wondering if new Macs would do to, or not. :)
<marcan> 10 bit tags?
<kwilczynski> marcan: https://lwn.net/Articles/864176/
<kwilczynski> I don't have a better links handy. Would need to go my PC, and that might wake up Mizuho, after which I might get killed ;)
<kwilczynski> So, Huawei was pressing to get this included, then we had some concerns, and then they went AWOL. I am going to prod this one again.
<marcan> I don't know if our RCs support it, would have to check
<kwilczynski> OK.
<kwilczynski> I am just curious. ;) Apologies for the commotion!
<kwilczynski> It if does, however, then it would be an nice thing to have, indeed.

<bluetail> can you just replace cef-minimal-obs with a generic cef build and edit the PKGBUILD to instead require cef-minimal? I found a binary here https://cef-builds.spotifycdn.com/index.html#linuxarm64 But I didnt figure in how to actually use it. The binary 'chrome-sandbox' seems to run, though. Good sign.
