<Begasus> g'morning peeps
<Begasus> augiedoggie, around?
<augiedoggie> possibly
<Begasus> ;)
<Begasus> for lua, we already have lua54 etc, but they get symlinked in the recipe to lua :)
<augiedoggie> right, we need to get rid of that symlink
<augiedoggie> like the python packages do
<Begasus> yeah but if you have lua54 and lua53 install they both provide "cmd:lua"
<augiedoggie> right, that should be changed to be cmd:lua54 and so on...
<Begasus> depending on which one is installed last will get the upperhand
<Begasus> there is already cmd:lua54 ;)
<augiedoggie> ok, so get rid of cmd:lua
<Begasus> that's an option too
<Begasus> most ports search for lua* anyway today
<augiedoggie> all i'm saying is that the situation is similar to python3, python38, python39,...
<augiedoggie> so we should be able to do something similar to those
<Begasus> right, but only python 2.7 provides cmd:python
<augiedoggie> right
<augiedoggie> i think waddlesplash wanted to stop doing that anyhow
<Begasus> for python?
<augiedoggie> i believe so
<augiedoggie> i'm not saying for sure, it's getting pretty late at night here :P
<Begasus> early morning here 06.34
<Begasus> Haven't had my coffee yet :P
<rennj> sounds messy and bloated
<rennj> modern software stacks
<rennj> how many software engineers does it take to screw in a light bulb? none, its a hardware problem....
<rennj> lua/java means projectzomboid game might work on haiku...bloated beast
<augiedoggie> python is really bad at maintaining compatibility
<augiedoggie> between versions
<Begasus> in case of python, you need the several python version packages, for lua you only need to include one

<Begasus> that's git 2.36.1 augiedoggie (for 32bit on secondary architecture due to parse errors) (no changes in the patchset)
<augiedoggie> mmkay
<augiedoggie> are you going to submit it as a pull request? with a WIP label
<augiedoggie> i'm lazy and it's easier to check it out as a pull request :P
<Begasus> you can actualy just duplicate the current one to the new version (same with the pathset), no changes aside the secondary architecture
<Begasus> don't want to go over the PR atm from extrowerk ;)
<Begasus> git remote add ... / git checkout --track ... :) that's how I pull other branches in to check
<Begasus> 4 haikuports directories here, 1 haikuports (working dir for 32bit), 2 haikuports_64 (for 64 bit), 3 haikuports_games (my fork) and 4 sandbox (to pull in other branches for checking PR's)
<augiedoggie> that's too much work, i have git configured so i can just checkout pull requests like branches :P
<Begasus> in haikuports I setup remote to my fork and upstream haikuports
<augiedoggie> git checkout pullreqs/6880 or whatever
<Begasus> works ok for me here, I want to keep my haikuports repo clean from other repo's/branches :)
<augiedoggie> yeah, it pulls from the main haikuports repo, not other people

<nephele> veel plezier
<andreasdr[m]> Nice report!!!
<Aspirus> does youtube work in haiku os
<andreasdr[m]> You can use QMPlay2. That works pretty great.
<nephele> Does youtube "work" anywhere? .-.
<nephele> If you use qmplay2 you can view youtube videos, not the comments. It probably does not work in the webrowser
<Aspirus> thanks i will try that
<Aspirus> embeds seem to work fine, but the whole app crashes the browser
Aspirus has quit [Quit: Vision[0.10.3]: i've been blurred!]
<nephele> It is way easier to use youtube_dl (or the fork?) or qmplay2 currently, yes sometimes youtube playback works in the browser (I heard), but the code there is quite messy and prone to lockups and such
<Begasus> yay!!! :D
<nephele> Hi begasus
<Begasus> hi nephele (and others awake) :)
<Begasus> got borg packaged and running ;)
<nephele> I hope you encountered little resistance
<Begasus> had some tackling to do with the versioning and setuptools_scm
<Begasus> that did the trick (should write that down somewhere ;)
