:p
<scanty>
^_^
<scanty>
erysdren: working on anything?
<AlienSoldier>
the truth is out there
<scanty>
lol AlienSoldier, what a great show that was!
<erysdren>
scanty: archiving press releases 2009-2018 from Valve Software
<scanty>
erysdren: sounds like fun
<erysdren>
got em downloaded, now writing a python script to format them
<scanty>
that's cool. python is on my todo list.
<AlienSoldier>
scanty got my third gamecube controller today, only one to go!
<erysdren>
in 2017 i created an archive of all their press releases (that i could find) from 1997 to 2011, now i'm filling in the rest from one of their official channels
<scanty>
AlienSoldier: cool. i wish i had that many friends :^)
<scanty>
erysdren: ah, that's cool.
<AlienSoldier>
scanty that is the pricy part, getting the friend after :P
<scanty>
hehe
<scanty>
i don't really collect video game stuff anymore, except what i have remaining of my NES collection.
<erysdren>
scanty: can't share the link to this page yet, the server's not public, but here's a screenshot of the page: https://0x0.st/8fYP.png
<scanty>
i have a lot of carts in storage.
<scanty>
looks good.
<scanty>
colour scheme is good.
<erysdren>
thanks
<scanty>
AlienSoldier: I thought about selling my NES carts... i have already dumped all of them.
<erysdren>
i've been really into digital preservation stuff since i was about 14
<erysdren>
even at that young and stupid age, i could tell a lot of the internet was slowly (sometimes quickly) rotting away
<erysdren>
so i've been saving stuff i care about ever since... many terabytes later.
<scanty>
nice.
<scanty>
i have ripped all my vinyl
<AlienSoldier>
now vinyl sellers are ripping us :)
<scanty>
roughly 500 records, mostly progressive house and other electronic genres.
<AlienSoldier>
i must be close to that also, but there is a lot of polka album in there :)
<scanty>
haha
<AlienSoldier>
And james Last greatest hits :P
<scanty>
i do have some of my mom's disco, which, if sped up a little bit can go nicely with house.
<AlienSoldier>
i seem to rarely find shit album. It costed so much producing back then, most where genuinely wanting to do things well.
<scanty>
i spend $60 on one LP
<scanty>
spent*
<AlienSoldier>
can't beat putting Andre Gagnon Wow on an old 70's system :)
<scanty>
the other day.
<scanty>
AlienSoldier: definitely, a lot of good audio gear from the 70's
<erysdren>
i have like, 15 or 20 records only
<erysdren>
mostly New Wave from the 80s
<erysdren>
Men at Work, Wall of Voodoo, They Might Be Giants, etc.
<erysdren>
New Wave & alt
<AlienSoldier>
but do you have some Streisand :)
<erysdren>
nah :p
<AlienSoldier>
I like the smell of Demis Roussos in the morning :P
<scanty>
I've got some Kraftwerk.
<scanty>
from which i learned all the German that i know.
<erysdren>
i have a kraftwerk record... i don't remember which one now, and i can't check since my records are behind stuff.
<erysdren>
i think it's a 7" single
<AlienSoldier>
We are the gobots!
<scanty>
AlienSoldier: lols
<scanty>
you mean robots :-)
<scanty>
erysdren: i would be interested in that
<erysdren>
i'm more proud of my Wall of Voodoo and Men at Work collections. they are nearly complete for their discographies.
<erysdren>
they didnt release very much, so it wasnt too hard :P
<scanty>
that's cool, i'm collecting Orbital vinyls.

when clang is involved I'm ending up with: /boot/system/develop/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-haiku/13.3.0/include/c++/cstddef:50:10: fatal: 'stddef.h' file not found
<Begasus[m]>
I can bypass this when using one of the IDE's, but in regular Terminal it picks up the install and build will fail
<Begasus[m]>
is this an error in LLVM package? (header is installed)

OK, this stddef.h not found present in LLVM20 also, with LLVM17 it's fine
<McCall[m]>
x512: is there a particular u-boot / opensbi I should be using on the VisionFive 2, or should I just go with the latest... which looks to be v2025.04 / opensbi 1.6-1 ? It seems the easiest way is to push Arch Linux on it first, then flash, then move to Haiku.
<Begasus[m]>
bah, then in Terminal it almost finishes and with haikuporter it fails: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'shiboken6'

grabbing shiboken6-6.8.3-1-x86_64.hpkg and moving it to /Opslag/haikuports/packages/shiboken6-6.8.3-1-x86_64.hpkg
<Begasus[m]>
that works atleast :)
