<scanty>
AlienSoldier: nice machine, but it says you basically can't add more RAM, and 8GB these days is like nothing.
<scanty>
plus, 5400RPM.... eh..
<scanty>
how much $$$ does this thing costs?
<AlienSoldier>
scanty 50$ CAN
<scanty>
oh
<scanty>
that's super cheap
<AlienSoldier>
no transport fee
<scanty>
much less than i thought.
<AlienSoldier>
yeah, it almost worth it just for the 1To HD

<scanty>
true.
<AlienSoldier>
and i have the mint box and a keyboard and mice
<scanty>
ah
<scanty>
probably you would wind up spending more $$ on the right KB and mouse than the actual machine itself~
<AlienSoldier>
if i can get it to operate well with something like NFS or Samba i could almost have a serial experiment Lain Be machine :)
<AlienSoldier>
i tested a general 2 button mouse i have and it work on it also
<scanty>
nice.
<AlienSoldier>
so me (that was not wanting anything apple) now have a classic, a G4 and now that one, and eventually a 040 one once i get an Amiga Vampire .
<AlienSoldier>
using shapeshifter

<AlienSoldier>
the 5400 rpm is almost a +, it make no noise and those last eternity
<scanty>
that's a lot of computers. What is Amiga Vampire?
<AlienSoldier>
seem the video chip is the problem with haiku
<scanty>
I agree it would make a fun haiku machine.
<Begasus[m]>
still no go : /boot/system/develop/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-haiku/13.3.0/include/c++/cstddef:50:10: fatal: 'stddef.h' file not found
<jmairboeck>
looks like the include path is configured wrong in LLVM/clang
<Begasus[m]>
that's what I'm "trying" to fix :)
<jmairboeck>
or haiku_devel is missing, but I guess that is not the problem ;)
<Begasus[m]>
ps, the error is from pyside
<Begasus[m]>
haiku${secondaryArchSuffix}_devel
<Begasus[m]>
included in the recipe :)
<Begasus[m]>
but already had this when checking a build in Terminal
<Begasus[m]>
afk for a bit

x512: I've got my VF2 up and running with Debian. I'm really impressed at how smooth it feels on it. I've got to downgrade u-boot / opensbi as this version is too new from the factory.
<McCall[m]>
scanty & @AlienSoldier - I've got an Amiga 1200 with an Apollo IceDrake. It's stupid fast for an Amiga!
<Peppersawce>
And a bunch of similar ones all starting with std:: etc
<Peppersawce>
what's the thing I'm not linking? :)
<jmairboeck>
looks like the C++ standard library. When using g++, it does that automatically, but I don't know exactly about clang(++)
<jmairboeck>
does clang on Haiku use libc++ or libstdc++?
<Peppersawce>
Ah right, using clang btw
<Peppersawce>
g++ was failing
<jmairboeck>
yes, I saw that, otherwise you wouldn't be using lld
<Peppersawce>
lmao
<jmairboeck>
do you invoke it as clang or clang++?
<Peppersawce>
clang
<Peppersawce>
aren't they both symlinks to clang-18?
<jmairboeck>
try with clang++, clang is the C compiler
<Peppersawce>
kk ty
<jmairboeck>
this is the same when using gcc vs. g++
<jmairboeck>
when using C++ standard library stuff with gcc, you have to link with -lstdc++ explicitly also
<jmairboeck>
when using makefile-engine, there is even a predefined variable for that
<Peppersawce>
Makes sense, I wasn't aware of much about this :)
<Peppersawce>
Thanks for clearing this up
<Peppersawce>
Let's hope it works this time :D
