that lift VFD problem just sounds worse and worse the more i think about it :( reminds me of when i had to put up with DSL and my neighbour's cheapo solar inverter would knock out the internet every day between ~10:30am and ~2pm

I once had a wifi router that would kill my DSL when plugged in. to the mains only. on the other side of the room. with the antennas disconnected.

and for something more computer-y and less "mains interference", my sister's old PC was bluescreening randomly, I once touched the wifi antenna and it immediately bluescreened, and I realized it was loose

Phyx: unless you have a *very* old perf, you don't need to recompile it. you just need to specify which PMUs you want to count the events on.
