Hi, does anyone have issues upgrading qemu? I get this error ....The following package cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
<bmentink[m]>
qemu-desktop
<bmentink[m]>
I got this error when trying a full system upgrade ..
e1eph4nt has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
psanford has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
e1eph4nt has joined #asahi
psanford has joined #asahi
<kode54>
qemu-desktop is the package that is supposed to be literally every qemu target, which they split because apparently some people don't like having a gig worth of emulators for every architecture
<bmentink[m]>
So how do I get rid of the error?
<kode54>
Remove gnome boxes?
<kode54>
dunno
<bmentink[m]>
Did that get installed by default
<kode54>
gnome boxes is included in the catch all group and meta package for gnome
e1eph4nt has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<bmentink[m]>
I will try uninstalling it
<kode54>
I mean, if you don't need virtual machines
snapdragon[m] has left #asahi [#asahi]
goosteady has joined #asahi
<bmentink[m]>
nope, don't need them
<bmentink[m]>
pacman says boxes not installed, but I see the application in the apps
<bmentink[m]>
ah, it's not actually installed ..
<kode54>
Huh
<bmentink[m]>
if i got to the apps overview gui .. it shows that boxes is available for installing
<bmentink[m]>
.. so not sure why qemu is installed
<kode54>
Try removing qemu then, it will tell you what depends on it

i'd expect it to work the same as on any other hardware (which doesn't answer your question, but means you can ask a wider range of linux experts)

<alarm>
yeah you right
<kettenis>
all the macsmc-hid driver does is translate power button presses into HID events, so yes, it should work like everywhere else

tpw_rules: No, just Arch/Asahi.

bmentink[m]: many qemu packages are currently broken on archlinuxarm, so you can only avoid installing them
