<bluetail>
what capture card can you recommend for linux usage? preferrably external...
<ar>
bluetail: for hdmi? I'm surprisingly happy with the cheap macrosilicon ones. does 1080p30, which is good enough for using my mirrorless camera as a webcam
<ar>
(though i would assume this is a bit offtopic here)
<bluetail>
Yea for hdmi. Its meant for dual-using my work-laptop and my own device. I also have a usb-switch. Yea, lets take it to the direct messages.
<ar>
or #asahi-offtopic
<bluetail>
I'll just try a couple of cards

<Cyrinux>
Hi, anybody here use usbguard? Sometimes I need to "whitelist" / permenant allow again, the xHCI host controllers, like the internal topology "change", hash change. There is a reason about this ? I expect to allow only new usb external devices, and not have to allow again internal controller. I got this on a dell but also on my m2 air with asahi,
<Cyrinux>
and I would like to understand if it is more a kernel/driver problem that make those "hash"/"id" not static, or if its a more an usbguard issue. Any idea?
<jannau>
Cyrinux: that's most likely a side effect of the complete reset the kernel does on disconnect/reconnect for the SoC usb-c ports. that should look like they are completly new controllers from usbguard's POV
<jannau>
sven is planning to write an apple silicon specific wrapper driver for the dwc3 xHCI controller to deal with the reset issue for dp-altmode. that might or might not fix this issue as well
<Cyrinux>
thx jannau, and so, this is a "normal" behavior depending the hardware, no way to do another way than doing a full reset I understannd? I started to ask to sven directly but he advise me to ask here. That was what I would like to understand.
<Cyrinux>
I so have to see if i can trust by default internal controller but external device in usbguard.
