<extrowerk>
i pretty like that i don't have to prepare install media anymore, no need for burning disks or preparing usb installers. I just spawn a qemu with the install iso attached as a cdrom and also attach a physical disk, and then i can install an OS without needing to reboot. If it is done i just pop the physical disk into the computer and boot from the freshly installed system. Nice.

Obviously *some* operating system like to specialize the install for the computer hw and it fails to boot in a real machine, as it is configured for the virtual machine. Thats bummer.

got some further extrowerk :)
<Begasus>
hwloc and openmpi localy bumped already
<extrowerk>
i would not use neither hwloc nor openmpi in any recipe.
<extrowerk>
i have the strange feeling they are broken.
<Begasus>
is there some way to test that?
<extrowerk>
so please do not use them in any recipe if not mandatory.
<Begasus>
it's used (hwloc) in a PR that's still open from you (hence I was looking into that)
<Begasus>
well, the build is running, no need to kill the process now
<extrowerk>
openmpi is for parallel computing and relying on hwloc for detecting cpu cores and stuff. Now they should work in tandem correctly to provide a stable base to build other programs upon them. But openmpi reports there is no cpu cores available.
<extrowerk>
Idk why.

extrowerk: if you upgrade to latest nightly, ifconfig should tell you whether you are using 802.11n or 802.11ac
<waddlesplash>
in case you actually want to know
<extrowerk>
waddlesplash: thanks for the hint, lets check
