Fedora's 56.5.8 build is okay here. bootargs are kind of annoying "arm64.nopauth clk_ignore_unused pd_ignore_unused rd.driver.blacklist=msm" 6.6 has not needed the rd.driver.blacklist=msm

<dgilmore> "Fedora's 56.5.8 build is okay..." <- Did you splice a rawhide iso together or did you generate one from scratch?
<Jasper[m]>
The wiki is not entirely clear on how to do it properly
iivanov has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<dgilmore>
Jasper[m]: I created a f39 USB stick and booted from it. I had to rebuild the initrd adding qrtr
<dgilmore>
From that I manually installed onto the nvme drive
<dgilmore>
It was not a pretty process

Kinda sad about that, but I'm sure it'll change in the near future considering the improvements on the wiki

I have started looking at making a boot.iso that will be able to install. I want to get f40 installable out of the box. Hopefully without bootargs
<_[m]1>
<Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]> "reboot fixed?" <- wifi slowness, canbe also bug with mullvad vpn (it is beta one)
<Jasper[m]>
<dgilmore> "I have started looking at making..." <- I hope they'll start shipping DeviceTrees with the live iso's I guess.

I have not looked at the live isos in awhile. I tend to grab and use the disk images.
<dgilmore>
not a great place for them but they will be in /lib/modules/<kernel verison>/dtb/

<dgilmore> "I have not looked at the live..." <- I'm waiting for live iso's for the real consumer experience hahaha
<Jasper[m]>
<dgilmore> "not a great place for them but..." <- I'm going to guess they need to be on the root or in a folder of the usb device for it to work
<Jasper[m]>
Because that's what grub needs
<dgilmore>
Well they need to be in /boot
<Jasper[m]>
dgilmore: they're not
<Jasper[m]>
Going to guess these are the SBBR images
<dgilmore>
I will take a look tomorrow.
<dgilmore>
There isn't really SBBR images

Here's an updated wip branch for the X13s:
<Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]>
Forgive me for not knowing, but what is dwc3?
<Dylanger>
Isn't it USB3?
<Dylanger>
USB3.0 PHY?
<Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]>
Thx
<Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]>
And with sound and, most importantly, a microphone, is there any hope of functioning like Windows?
<jhovold>
Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]: ath11k is wifi, and dwc3 multiport is indeed USB, but essentially the fingerprint reader since that's the only thing connected to the multiport USB controller on the X13s
<jhovold>
dwc3 is the name of the Synopsis USB controller driver
<jhovold>
sounds is working great here except that recordings using the built-in microphone were a bit distorted last time I checked
<jhovold>
sound do have some user-space dependencies though, and unfortunately some alsa-ucm-conf fixes are not even upstream yet, so that could cause trouble depending on your distro and manual setup
<Jasper[m]>
jhovold: I've noticed that Ubuntu still lags a bit in that regard :/
<Jasper[m]>
Oh well
<jhovold>
Jasper[m]: ah, ok, is sound completly broken on ubuntu currently then (e.g. as some changes were not backward compatible) or just that they still have the speaker distortion problem?
<Jasper[m]>
jhovold: Speaker is serviceable although a little soft, headphones are blasting my ears
<Jasper[m]>
So I'm guessing there's some alsa-ucm-conf patch missing
<jhovold>
headphones get pretty loud here too if i were to set the volume to 100%, but wasn't that some known trade-off related to different use cases (different headphones, line-out)
<jhovold>
but i'm sure there's room for some further tweaking of default volume levels etc
<enyalios>
im running ubuntu lunar and sound is working great for me
<jhovold>
enyalios: is that the latest release? i.e. non-"concept" image?

<Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]>
I use Last Ubuntu 23.10 sound very very low
<jhovold>
Jasper[m]: ok, and you were running the latest ubuntu release? (is that "mantic"?)
<jhovold>
Bioxvirizm-x13s[m]: ok, sounds like they are missing some fixes then
<Jasper[m]>
jhovold: It's Mantic, ues
<Jasper[m]>
* It's Mantic, yes
