<hexdump0815> travmurav[m]: sorry for the delay - i was offline for a few days ... upstreaming the gb go dts would make sense
<hexdump0815> travmurav[m]: i'm just a bit scared about the upstreaming - seems to not always be very easy, but at some point i should really start with it
<hexdump0815> travmurav[m]: first step would be to cleanup my wip gb go dts in preparation - would you be willing to have a look at it once i have a cleaned up version of it ready?
<hexdump0815> travmurav[m]: btw. there is a gh issue from someone with a woa device which seems to be close to the aspire 1 - maybe you have some ideas about how to get more hardware working in case they upload the acpi tables - see: https://github.com/hexdump0815/imagebuilder/issues/171
<hexdump0815> Dylanger: here are some notes about dealing with cromeos ucm files: https://github.com/hexdump0815/imagebuilder/blob/main/doc/alsa-ucm-pulseaudio-hacking.txt - by far not complete, but maybe they are helpful in some way
<Dylanger> Thank you
<hexdump0815> Dylanger: the sof stuff is used a lot for newer intel systems, so maybe some inspiration can be taken from there - it is essentially open source firmware for the audio stuff - see: https://github.com/thesofproject/sof
<Dylanger> The device itself has "DTS" support, whatever that means, it could be that the company behind DTS usually runs their software on the DSP
<Dylanger> But upstream uses SOF?
<Dylanger> Not 💯 sure
<hexdump0815> Dylanger: nowadays more and more other systems seem to start using it - among them mediatek chromebooks
<hexdump0815> Dylanger: forget about that dts stuff - i think it will not work with open source as its very closed itself
<Dylanger> It looks like everything is already pushed to alsa's git
<Dylanger> So I shouldn't need to pull UCMs from the chromium overlay repo
<Dylanger> If I strace alsa I can see it trying to read from an incorrect location, I think I need to force alsa to read the UCMs from specific directory
<steev> that sounds like you need a thing in the ucm2/conf.d directory
