nice, and that improved audio under pw on the x13s?

[@_oftc_icecream95:matrix.org](https://matrix.to/#/@_oftc_icecream95:matrix.org) I'm on the latest ubuntu concept x1e and I'm trying to replicate the crash. Is there something else I need to do on that site (svraster.github.to) to trigger it? Kernel: 6.14.0-5 qcom x1e; ff 135.0

albsen[m]: For me, just visting it triggers it. Is iris enabled in Firefox? (about:support, look for Hardware Decoding for H264)

Got my first response from parade (kind of actually redtree-solutions?) about the ps185 dp->hdmi chip, but I am not positive on the outlook on whether I am actually going to get it
<SpieringsAE>
but at least someone seems alive there
<JensGlathe[m]>
SpieringsAE: I added the whole usb1_ss2 structure to the Thinkbook 16 dt, no reaction from the hdmi port. I added it as if it's fully capable type-c connector (maybe a mistake). Anyway, after resolving 6.14-rc3 for the DevKit and the WiFi test I'll take another look.
<JensGlathe[m]>
There seems to be some issue with the PMIC's and their eUSB2 repeaters.
<SpieringsAE>
did you check if the hpd gpio is the same?
<JensGlathe[m]>
Also, my Lenovo TB4 dock (40B0) on the TB16 only has USB2 - Linux or Windows
<JensGlathe[m]>
its TLMM 125 yet, I have seen you have detected 126, will take a look at your definition
<SpieringsAE>
I really should register a little one man business for myself
<SpieringsAE>
I kinda have to do this through my work now and it feels sketchy
<JensGlathe[m]>
been there

okay more info from parade, it does seem like the simple bridge driver should be enough for the ps185 chip, there does not seem to be much of any configuration
<SpieringsAE>
I must be missing an enable or some regulators or something
<SpieringsAE>
but I just can't find anything in the dsdt
<SpieringsAE>
also the simple sound card dts definition is the bane of my existence

By the way, is anyone working on kernel speaker volume limiting for x1e (specifically slim 7x)? How difficult is this expected to be? I am kinda afraid of playing around with sound or enabling it in my NixOS build until there is some safety limit.
<anonymix007[m]>
kuruczgy @kuruczgy:matrix.org: I took a quick look at how speaker protection is implemented in windows and android. This stuff is straight up impossible to adapt to mainline Linux without documentation. And we don't have one.
<anonymix007[m]>
I guess the only sane way forward is to ditch the current kernel-side implementation and use https://github.com/Audioreach instead

anonymix007: Would that work as some kind of userspace driver? How far away is it from working? (I am fine with it as long as no blobs need to run on the main CPU. I expect some blobs to be needed on the aDSP.)
<anonymix007[m]>
kuruczgy @kuruczgy:matrix.org: running blobs on the CPU doesn't seem to be a requirement, though we don't have them anyway. Looks like those repos were used by LineageOS, so, I guess, it's already in a working state, at least for Android. I guess someone should try and report how well it works in Linux if at all.

@icecream95: you're right, hardware support is disabled for all.
<albsen[m]>
also, on 6.14.0-5 ubuntu I can now reliably crash the system by connecting to my 5g wifi
