<Niklas[m]> "I already looked for something..." <- > Then there's Dukto which is cross-platform and available for Haiku,but it doesn't actually work.
<x512[m]>
Work for me.
<Niklas[m]>
I can install and run it,but trying to send a file always results in "error 10"
<x512[m]>
What is LAN configuration? Are firewalls used? Does it work in opposite direction?
<Niklas[m]>
Both are in the same Wifi,there is a firewall on the router,but it allows all intranet traffic.Opposite direction has the same problem.
<x512[m]>
Are IPv6 used?
<Niklas[m]>
No,I have business DSL because of my server (static IPv4,nothing else)

Hi Begasus. You know what would be great, a GSOC for games. I mean not really for money but to allow game maker wanting to increase their audiance with port to haiku. The idea would be to get them paired to a dev used to work with haiku unti they are good to go to make their port on their own. Was thinking about that when looking at developer doing multiplatform game alread (https://lowcarb.itch.io/pac-mazing) but just not h

Begasus the idea would not to have anything to do with the game side of things, just to help with the API bindings of things.
<AlienSoldier>
i am just impressed by how much untaped itchio indie developer there is
<Begasus>
AlienSoldier, same there, I'm good with recipes, and sometimes some patching, but further then that I'm clue-less ;)

I think that already some of the game developers enter GSoC also AlienSoldier (I know atleast scummvm is in (I think) every year, tuxpaint has engaged there also ...)

I made some progress with KDE Connect on Haiku :) I found that there are multiple implementations of the protocol already.The official one doesn't work,but there is some Python-based CLI application that works just fine after removing three lines of systemd madness.It connects successfully to my other devices,running KDE Connect on KDE and KDE Connect on Android.Unfortunately it misses a lot of features (such as sending files) but it's at least
<Niklas[m]>
some starting point which can probably be extended.
<Niklas[m]>
GSconnect needs GTK and a lot of GNOME libs,so probably not the best choice
<mmu_man>
I didn't mean to port it, just as sample code
<mmu_man>
definitely not a reference implementation :D
nullman has joined #haiku
<Niklas[m]>
I'll have a look at it.
<Niklas[m]>
I should probably stop trying to do so much stuff at the same time.I didn't bring my first work on a Haiku app to a usable state and already think about the third native tool I want to create xD
<mmu_man>
Was it this or Argos that I had to fix 3 or 4 times because it didn't run on the older version of gnome-shell I used back then, can't remember. Glad I switched back to KDE finally
<mmu_man>
Do you want to see my TODO-list? :D
* mmu_man
still wants to write a [k]Argos compatible thingy to run scriptlets in Deskbar
<Niklas[m]>
I also use KDE on Linux.But I never tried KDE Connect,before I thought that there must be some simple way to transfer a file from my Haiku laptop to my Haiku desktop computer :D
countryboy has left #haiku [Konversation terminated!]
<Niklas[m]>
I've seen that.The protocol seems quite simple,considering the many reimplementations that already exist

Niklas[m]: well it also brings many interesting things like starting scripts and acting like a touchpad
<Niklas[m]>
Yes,that worked surprisingly good for me
<Niklas[m]>
And in all directions.Tried it from desktop to desktop,from phone to desktop and from desktop to phone
<Niklas[m]>
It even works with the Vala-based mconnect CLI app.Unfortunately it needs GTK for this feature,otherwise it could have been ported to Haiku
<julicenri>
Native KDE Connect could be called BeConnect, Konnect (missed opportunity for KDE tbh :P), HaikuConnect, or something.
<Niklas[m]>
I vote for BeConnect
<Niklas[m]>
And yes,Konnect would have been a good name for the official KDE version.Now it's used by some unknown Python reimplementation where I'm probably the only user

More details please?
<excon>
When i use the USB driver to boot my computer can not identify the usbdriver
<Niklas[m]>
You mean it's not listed in the BIOS?
<excon>
Yep
<Niklas[m]>
Did you download 32bit or 64bit Haiku?
<excon>
32bit
<Niklas[m]>
Does your computer still support legacy BIOS or only UEFI?
<excon>
Old bios
<excon>
Legacy
<Niklas[m]>
Okay,that sounds good.
<Niklas[m]>
How did you write the downloaded image to the USB stick?
<excon>
The software in homepage
<excon>
Etcher
<Niklas[m]>
That should normally work

<excon>
Thanks man
<Niklas[m]>
What I wanted to ask...Do you have any computer with Linux,BSD or Solaris?
<excon>
Linux
<Niklas[m]>
They have a preinstalled tool called dd which always works for me for writing images to a USB stick.These graphical tools like Etcher are sometimes a bit unreliable in my experience
<excon>
Yeah i know
<excon>
Keep trying
<excon>
Tomorrow moring I'll work on it
<Niklas[m]>
If it also doesn't work with dd,we may have to search for the error at another place.
<excon>
Ok keep in touch now i should sleep in China

Is there a easy way for writing a BMessage to the terminal?I need this for debugging if the BMessage I try to generate automatically is correct.
<x512[m]>
BMessage::PrintToStream()
<Niklas[m]>
Thank you very much,that was easier than expected :D
