Everyone loves locking!
<waddlesplash>
yes
<waddlesplash>
and when this commit goes through, I have another WIP change locally to refactor the user_mutex kernel implementation to seriously reduce lock contention
<zdykstra>
Very nice
<waddlesplash>
no idea how much that will improve throughput though, totally untested
<waddlesplash>
it does hit the kernel heap, so, there may be some rare cases it hurts

oh.
<erysdren>
getitng weird behavior with haikuporter
<erysdren>
having a path listed in the DESCRIPTION block leads to an error
<erysdren>
ah it's because the path was wrapped in grave (`) characters

Begasus, OscarL: QuakeSpasm is done unless you require any further changes. thank you
<OscarL>
Thanks erysdren, and thanks to your friends for the icon. Plans to donate the .svg to upstream QS ? (its nicer than the official one, IMO :-D)
<erysdren>
might do!
<augiedoggie>
if not, then it should be uploaded with the pull request if possible
<augiedoggie>
there are several ports that have the original icon-o-matic file in the repo
<erysdren>
sure. what directory would you recommend augiedoggie?
<erysdren>
additional-files?
<augiedoggie>
yes
<erysdren>
is just the svg ok?
<erysdren>
i didn't make any edits in icon-o-matic. just import svg and export rdef
<augiedoggie>
yeah, i think that's fine, unless you had to do any major manipulation inside of icon-o-matic
<erysdren>
ok,i pushed the SVG to the haikuports pull request
<augiedoggie>
cool, thanks
<erysdren>
hopefully that's the last pull request i have to make

GtkSharp apps are running fine on Haiku.
<andreasdr[m]>
This is nice!!! 100 points.
<andreasdr[m]>
Good morning
<x512[m]>
trungnt2910: I usually install all packages produced by Haiku repo build to avoid inconsistency.
<trungnt2910[m]>
x512[m]: But building all packages take a lot of time...
<trungnt2910[m]>
s/take/takes/
<x512[m]>
_source packages can be excluded.
<trungnt2910[m]>
<trungnt2910[m]> "Installing a custom haiku.hpkg..." <- Also, this bug seems new, I did not have any problem when doing this a few months ago.
<trungnt2910[m]>
trungnt2910[m]: So does `scp`ing things again and again.
<waddlesplash>
if you built with one that doesn't support SSL or something due to being too minimal...
<trungnt2910[m]>
jam -q -j8 haiku.hpkg haiku_devel.hpkg.
<waddlesplash>
yep
<waddlesplash>
add @nightly-raw after -j8
<trungnt2910[m]>
Will try it the next time I build my packages.
<trungnt2910[m]>
Currently trying to manually replace haiku.hpkg and haiku_devel.hpkg packages with official builds to revert makes Haiku unbootable after that.
<trungnt2910[m]>
The only way to fix is to boot to the live CD, nuke everything in /haiku_drive/system/packages, and then replace them with the CD's /boot/system/packages`.
<trungnt2910[m]>

<trungnt2910[m]>
s///`//, s/,/`,/, s///`//
<waddlesplash>
trungnt2910[m]: use the bootloader.
<waddlesplash>
revert to earlier state, don't replace packages manually

Begasus you're killing me! :P
<andreasdr[m]>
Killing in the name of!!!
<erysdren>
so, the reason why i removed `-lm` for Haiku is because it was tripping up my cross-compiler
<erysdren>
i figured it would also trip up the onboard Haiku GCC, but i guess not
<erysdren>
wait
<erysdren>
that LINK_M stuff should be removed already
<erysdren>
???? i thought i removed the LINK_M directive
<erysdren>
oh my reading comprehension is low, i just woke up

<Begasus>
but in the recipe you cp the pak file to $dataDir
PasNox has joined #haiku
<erysdren>
so
<erysdren>
the make install directive in the makefile assumes DO_USERDIRS=0
<erysdren>
which is the default behaviour
<erysdren>
but the recipe does DO_USERDIRS=1
<erysdren>
so i choose to do it in the recipe instead
<Begasus>
it's called a "variable" you can use that to set your own
<erysdren>
ok, i'll move the file copying into the makefile and run make install from the recipe?
<erysdren>
if that's good
zard has quit [Quit: leaving]
<Begasus>
so "make install QS_DATA_DIR=$dataDir" fixes that for the install
<Begasus>
same for the $appsDir
<Begasus>
installing in B_USER_NONPACKAGED_DATA_DIRECTORY)/QuakeSpasm/ inside the recipe doesn't work because the directory is read-only
<erysdren>
yeah

i gotta run and get some food, biab. completely random question before i go: are there any Haiku 88x31 web buttons?
<erysdren>
i wanna add one to my website
<Begasus>
don't know :)
<Begasus>
going down here too
<Begasus>
been a busy day here
<erysdren>
cya. i'll implement your makefile suggestions
<erysdren>
i really wanna get this over with, i'm a bit tired of messing with QS lol
<Begasus>
well, it works as is
<Begasus>
but will check in the morning :)
<Begasus>
g'night peeps!
<erysdren>
next up i will do fteqw, fte_tools, etc
<erysdren>
gnight
