I might have seen it randomly while looking through the bugtracker. Let me see what it's about...
<Begasus>
k, thanks :)
<PulkoMandy>
ths SVG is probbly just too complex to fit in an HVIF file. But having some counters visible on the GUI somewhere would help knowing that, at the moment we just get an error message when trying to save the file
<PulkoMandy>
the best solution is to draw a simplified icon. Especially in that case where I don't see why it is so complex
<Begasus>
probably the same for the svg icon from unknown_horizons

Hello everyone, i decided to give haiku a try but i have a problem, does anyone know whether haiku can do MAC address spoofing? i need that because internet access in my building is given per MAC
<Begasus>
no idea here sokon, welcome btw
<Begasus>
PulkoMandy, I guess joyce was ok? :)
<sokon>
dang, thats a shame, gotta find another way to go about it
<Begasus>
maybe someone else knows but isn't at the keyboard atm
<Begasus>
you could also ask around in the forum
<waddlesplash>
sokon: it's supported in the FreeBSD drivers we use, but I don't think we expose it to userland...
<waddlesplash>
we'd have to add a new ioctl and an ifconfig command probably
<Begasus>
some thing to add to your todo list waddlesplash :)
<Begasus>
or maybe pairisto[m] can work on that on the sideline ;)
<sokon>
thanks for replies, is there any way i could help with possibly implementing that in my spare time?

<waddlesplash>
if you know C/C++ and have worked with driver programming before, yes
Diver has joined #haiku
<waddlesplash>
or even if you haven't done driver programming you may be able to figure your way around
<sokon>
i didnt do ay driver programming thus far but i have programmed in C for like 7yrs now
<waddlesplash>
well first thing to do is figure out how this works on FreeBSD
<waddlesplash>
appears there's an ifconfig command
<sokon>
ok, thats a good starting point
<waddlesplash>
so find the source and figure out how it talks to the driver, probably some SIOCSIF...
<waddlesplash>
I just looked at the driver sources, it appears most drivers expect an upper layer to do most of the work
<waddlesplash>
so probably we need to implement an ioctl in the compat layer
<waddlesplash>
you should open a ticket about this and comment that you intend to work on it, better than just leaving this on IRC
<Begasus>
+1
<sokon>
sure thing, when i'm done with exams then why not

another one down, one to go then we can close the SDL issue :)
<PulkoMandy>
I replied on the PR for kaiten_patissier, I made a version 1.06 of it that fixes some bugs
<PulkoMandy>
you can updatethe recipe and check if it runs for you
<Begasus>
k, does it launch ok?
<Begasus>
will do a check

that one is easy
<Begasus>
forgot I already got the fixed libsdl package here

succes!! running on 64bit PulkoMandy :)

I'm searching for the bug, I'll redo the tag 1,06 when I'm done
<PulkoMandy>
I think the code is broken on 64bit but it should work on 32

gonna kill gerrit for a second. Deactivating github auth

review.haiku-os.org redirects to www.haiku-os.org. Interesting
<zard>
Not anymore
<kallisti5[m]>
yeah. pretty much when routes disappear it just goes to the "default" handler which is haiku-os.org
<kallisti5[m]>
it could likely be improved :-)
<kallisti5[m]>
anyway. ugly oauth screen gone 🥳
<PulkoMandy>
kallisti5[m], if you have some time for it, there are two PRs for updating/adding mirrors for the releases in https://github.com/haiku/infrastructure/pulls, is there anything more to do or just merge them? (I don't have permissions to merge on the infra repo)
Diver has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<kallisti5[m]>
someday we can automate this application... but with only me and nielx managing it hasn't been a priority up until now
<kallisti5[m]>
oh. i gotta kill rsync too to pick up the changes
<kallisti5[m]>
(aka, terminate the pod) It's a configmap so it won't pick up the change until the next pod recycle
<kallisti5[m]>
anyway. done
<Forza>
:)
<Forza>
I need to setup rsync again now
<kallisti5[m]>
oh. as a reminder we really need package signature verification in the package kit. I was playing with it in tree, but am completely and utterly distracted with real life atm
<kallisti5[m]>
ok. byeeeeeeeeeee
<kallisti5[m]>
Forza: thanks for mirroring! :-)

<Forza>
Now it works
<Forza>
Thanks!
<kallisti5[m]>
no problem. Thank you! Sorry for the overly long delay.
<kallisti5[m]>
i'd like to improve automation on this stuff... but just don't feel comfortable mass-adding mirrors until our package kit gets signature validation
<Forza>
Absolutely no problem
<Begasus>
thanks Forza and kallisti5[m]!
<Begasus>
afk
<Forza>
I'll chabge the layout of my mirror dir structure to match the rsync.
<Forza>
What rsync settings do you want? Just time basesd, and not checksum based checks?
<PulkoMandy>
Begasus, I made a new 1.06 tag for kaiten patissier with more fixes for 64bit systems, now it should be actually playable hopefully
<Forza>
I think it'll do, saves from having to redownload if times are modified

sokon: the easiest thing to do of course is get your own WiFi router, something with OpenWRT would be best, spoof the Mac there, have it be the only thing connecting to building internet, and connect all your devices there

yeah i know, or getting a controlled switch which can spoof its mac, but it would be nice if it was implemented in the os though

SDL2 seems to have bug on Haiku now which used to work before. Doing SDL_OpenAudioDevice() play some audio, SDL_CloseAudio(), and repeat for the next tune without doing SDL_QuitSubSystem() SDL_InitSubSystem() only produces a single frame of audio then

that's kind of a large image size, it shouldn't be necessary to set it if you're using a build profile(i.e. @nightly-raw)
<augiedoggie>
shouldn't be a problem
<augiedoggie>
just sayin'
<pairisto[m]>
yes but I was getting other errors with a smaller size and I am getting a new error with an attribute called META:TYPE?
<augiedoggie>
iirc, you were building without a profile before, then you do need to increase the image size
<pairisto[m]>
was but isn't nightly-raw a defined profile?
<augiedoggie>
heh, it is
<augiedoggie>
nevermind though, it's irrelevant to your problem

i would try deleting the objects and build_packages directories from inside the generated directory and building again

will try

<augiedoggie>
what OS are you building on?
<augiedoggie>
if you're using the attribute emulation option then you may need to clear out that directory
<augiedoggie>
or reconfigure your build with that option enabled
<pairisto[m]>
linux mint
<pairisto[m]>
is the attribute emulation option enabled by default?
<augiedoggie>
i don't remember off the top of my head, i build haiku on an xfs partition which doesn't need the emulation
<augiedoggie>
you can check in generated/build/BuildConfig for HAIKU_HOST_USE_XATTR
