I know this is probably pretty low priority in the grand scheme of things, but the "search the source" link at https://www.haiku-os.org/development/ has lead to a 503 for some time.

makes up a patch to replace that link with "And this is where our opengrok link would be...IF WE HAD ONE!"

somebody else has one I just don't know the link

> Me too.It's the easiest way to get rid of all the tracking and advertising.And as a side-effect,it's also much more lightweight and performs better on old hardware.
<PrintableFreedom[m]>
Sadly the autoplay doesnt work well
<PrintableFreedom[m]>
> PrintableFreedom, just installed Haiku with Boxes, works like a charm (so far network and screen resolution is perfect without any adjustments) :)
<PrintableFreedom[m]>
Yeah, it seemed to work great for me
<PrintableFreedom[m]>
> boxes uses qemu, its not smoother

I think he meant UI/Interface wise

<roiredX>
from what i read, if my 'vanity' is way too high, i should use 'prs' instead of 'x-vnd' XD
<roiredX>
what if I port some software? also should use x-vnd?
<nephele[m]>
yes

ok. thanks nephele[m]

The game Unciv, a civ V clone seems to run with java8 as java -jar, would be interested if that tuns on Haiku, I'll probably test this later today or tommorow ^_^

why not use spleen on all resolutions
<bitigchi>
it's a nice typeface
<truck>
oh man spleen is a wonderful typeface
<bitigchi>
it makes KDL look less scary
<bitigchi>

I prefer the existing font personally, it feels a bit more neutral to me (spleen is very characteristic). But maybe it's just too much time spent looking at KDL
<nephele[m]>
bitigchi: we already have a font for the smaller resolution, why replace it?
<bitigchi>
nephele[m]: spleen just looks more cool
<nephele[m]>
I like the font, but its much easier to justify adding a font that it is to replace one ;)
<nephele[m]>
than*
<bitigchi>
fair enough i guess
<nephele[m]>
(and if you check the review comments most devs clearly prefer the smaller current font... and it's mainly who the kdl is there for sooo)
<bitigchi>
I think they just got used to the old one :)
* bitigchi
away
<nephele[m]>
possibly, still a valid reason :)

hello all
<shaka444[m]>
Hi Silas
<silas>
is there an IDE built specially for BeAPI or you just use editor+compiler? I tried Paladin, but it is still in development. I was wondering if there is something else.
<shaka444[m]>
The QT Creator IDE is very good in Haiku I use that often
<silas>
Can I use it and BeAPI (not Qt)?

thanks shaka444[m]. I believe I can't use Qt Creator GUI tools to draw BeAPI GUI's, right? Is there any tool for that?

Coldfirex: I have a more recent version booting into EFI. Its a little tricky.
<Coldfirex>
using the live iso?
<mbrumbelow>
Yes using the daily Anyboot. Have you turned off the Windows manager in your Bios?
