damn it though, this little Haiku laptop is just the nicest thing in the world. It makes me smile every time I use it.
<mattlacey>
what's the best course of action if the best I can get from the boot menu is to have no icons light up - choosing no safe mode etc. just results in an instant reboot, choosing everything means icons but nothing happening, nothing I choose shows any on-screen debug output!

do you have a serial port or a way to add one? (expresscard or PCI Express port?)

I've got spare PCIE slots, didn't realise it could leverage one of those cards
<mattlacey>
PulkoMandy do USB-Serial dongles work too?
<PulkoMandy>
no
<PulkoMandy>
at this early stage you will probably need a serial port that can be used by the EFI/BIOS. And even at later stages for the kernel we do not yet have drivers for usb-serial things (annoyingly we would need 4 or 5 drivers because they are not all compatibile with each other...)

Hello all, after cleaning the administrative (brutally) for space and now I get "failed to create transaction: no such file or directory". Is there any way to catch up or I'm good for full haiku reinstall ?

tib: you need to recreate administrative folder I think
<Diver>
or reboot, I think package_daemon creates it on start
<tib>
Ok thank you a lot Diver, I will try it asap
