[Important] Does anyone know of any major bugs or issues in R1/beta3 RC1 that should block the final release? Please communicate any major showstoppers to me directly before 3pm CDT today.

Thanks Kallisti5. Nothing so far thankfully
<kallisti5[m]>
cool. Thanks for testing! :-)
<kallisti5[m]>
I know there are a few minor issues in Trac, but nothing has really stood out as a blocker.
<kallisti5[m]>
(I know the WebPositive crashing issue sucks, but at least pages are rendering enough for good first impressions)
<Coldfirex>
agreed

good luck jeremyf
<jeremyf[m]>
<nephele[x] "good luck jeremyf"> Thanks for your answer
<jeremyf[m]>
😂
<nephele[x]>
the linux audio stack is really complex, has lots of moving parts and lots of indirection and is incredibly hard to configure in my experience :)
<nephele[x]>
even something as "stop playing hdmi autio" requires to configure kernel module load order in some cases and stuff...
<nephele[x]>
If you have specific rquestions about that stuff I might remember some of it, but I can't really help with a broad overview, also since it changes so much, so good luck :)
<jeremyf[m]>
I had a bugzilla ticket by OpenSUSE, but I can't find it anymore
<jeremyf[m]>

No sound on my laptop is sad
<nephele[x]>
I'd recomend using something like alpine linux and using ALSA only, then
<jeremyf[m]>
Alpine is CLI only, no?
<nephele[x]>
No, but you can use audio without using X11 or wayland if you want
<jeremyf[m]>
I prefer have gui
<jeremyf[m]>
And I'm more at ease on Debian and OpenSUSE
<nephele[x]>
You can install X11 fine if you want, and use for example sox with also or mpv to have tools that directly use ALSA without pulseaudio or pipewire or gstreamer in the middle
<nephele[x]>
It's much harder to use debian or opensuse without pulseaudio or pipewire since they are basically designed for this complexity
<nephele[x]>
In any case, you can use debian or so if you want, but there a lot more failre cases :)
