<LinuxUser> hi begasus!
<Begasus> g'morning peeps
<Begasus> hi LinuxUser
<LinuxUser> i specially stayed on channel while i waiting you
<LinuxUser> today i'll try paladin and c++
<Begasus> As I said, I'm not a devolper, so can't help out with c++ or any other language
<LinuxUser> ok i know
<LinuxUser> except recipes )
<Begasus> right, that I know :)
<LinuxUser> nope i know only c# partially :)
<LinuxUser> im not developer to
<LinuxUser> huh, i "found" feature in haiku
<LinuxUser> @begasus where is you?
<Begasus> still in my chair :)
<LinuxUser> eating?
<Begasus> nope, drinking my coffee
<LinuxUser> )))
<LinuxUser> i decided to learn c++ instead yab because c++ is more simple for me
<Begasus> Can I ask what your age is LinuxUser ?
<LinuxUser> for what reason?
<Begasus> Just curious, you don't need to answer :)
<LinuxUser> i can answer but please dont beat me :)
<Begasus> In my age I'm waiting for retirement to start learling a language :)
<LinuxUser> my age is 10 years
<Begasus> No one is beating any one here :)
<Begasus> 10 yrs, wow, then I'm impressed!
<LinuxUser> huh i began learning pc in 6 years!!!
<Begasus> Think I was almost 30 ;)
<LinuxUser> do you want to hear for what reason i wanted to learn linux?
<Begasus> Sure, I stepped over at to RH just to get away from M$ ;)
<LinuxUser> hehe i hate m$ too
<LinuxUser> hmm why m$ didnt add ext4 support for win
<Begasus> Don't hate it :) Still have one laptop here that runs it, and sometimes I even boot it if I can't handle something on Linux
<LinuxUser> ok
<LinuxUser> which version of win?
<Begasus> I think atm it still runs W7
<LinuxUser> yes
<LinuxUser> my school pc is atm
<LinuxUser> and it runs w7
<Begasus> At work we've got W10
<Reinhilde> memp!
<LinuxUser> i hate w10!
<LinuxUser> w10 has "immersive" control panel instead of classic control panel
<LinuxUser> and it has metro apps(appx, uwp)
<Begasus> well we can't do anything system wise on our computers there, so I don't have a need for it :P
<bparker_> w10 still has the classic control panel
<LinuxUser> you cant do anything because there's restrictions
<bparker_> heck it still has 16-bit UI in some places
<LinuxUser> bparker_ you're right
<LinuxUser> yeah, in 32bit versions of w10 there is 16-bit apps support(ntvdm)
<bparker_> and winevdm is a thing too
<LinuxUser> yes
<LinuxUser> or otvdm
<LinuxUser> yeah, w10 still has classic and basic themes :)
<Begasus> On the Win laptop I still have haiku on VBox
<bparker_> I thought otvdm was just the old name for winevdm
<LinuxUser> DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR MAIN PC: to enable basic theme you need to disable dwm
<bparker_> why did suckless have to name dwm the same as dwm
<LinuxUser> for classic theme you need completely disable dwm and destroy resources folder inside c:\windows. DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR MAIN PC!!!!
<Begasus> x512[m], ready to let the wayland recipes to the public?
<Begasus> lol, my bad :)

<nephele> Why does terminal never remember it's size and always opens so huge :(
<PulkoMandy> there is a settings->save as default menu
<PulkoMandy> so set your window as you want it, and then use that menu
<nephele> I've never used that, so where do the wierd positions and huge sizes come from? often times double my monitors height and width
<PulkoMandy> I don't know, the default should be 80x25 I think? but you can also change it in the preferences window I think
thomaslewis has joined #haiku
thomaslewis has left #haiku [#haiku]
<nephele> maybe the window size option in the menu somehow saves that?
<PulkoMandy> I don't remember, I think the idea is it saves only if you use that menuitem, so any temporary resizing you do doesn't end up being saved
<LinuxUser> nephele do you know where user begasus is?
<nephele> I can see Begasus in my sidebar, if you want to know their physical location then I have no idea
<LinuxUser> strange begasus doent write anything to me
<nephele> >06:53 <Begasus> k, heading out, cu later
<nephele> That means they are not at their computer
<nephele> PulkoMandy: hmm, it doesn't quite seem to do that for me, perhaps it is not saving the "size" as such differently but chokes because I've specified a larger font size
<PulkoMandy> it saves the font size and the number of columns/lines of text
<nephele> Okay, that might be the problem then
<nephele> I don't really know if it's nice that it opens obscuring deskbar because of this .-.
<LinuxUser> nephele this means that begasus is busy
<nephele> Yes, with real life stuff :)
rennj has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]

<nephele> Why sadly? Haiku is a hobby project, we only have one payed dev, everyone else is doing Haiku stuff in their free time :)
<LinuxUser> i didnt know
<LinuxUser> who is your payed dev?
<nephele> waddlesplash
<nephele> who is probably busy enjoying his weekend on this nice sunday :)
<LinuxUser> waddlesplash is main haiku dev??
<PulkoMandy> there is no "main" haiku dev, there is a team of several people working together
<nephele> no, we don't have a main developers. He just happens to be the only one employed to work on haiku

<PulkoMandy> if you want more stats about devs there is also http://pulkomandy.tk/stats/authors.html
<PulkoMandy> but you have to be careful that before gerrit was set up and used, commits were merged directly to git or svn and then review over email and fixes happened
<PulkoMandy> so what now takes 1 commit took usually 2 (first for functionality + second for style fixes) and sometimes more
<PulkoMandy> so the stats based on commit counts are not perfect
<x512[m]> Axeld no more planning do significant contributions?
<PulkoMandy> he has kids now and that keep him busy with more interesting things. Maybe when the kids are old and leave home
<PulkoMandy> same for stippi I think

<B2IA> (AGMS) Yes, that's correct. There's also a newer version 6 AutoCast which is a rewrite that doesn't use SoundPlay to play the music.

<B2IA> (AGMS) Nicely, the http://tunetrackersystems.com/ web site still works (sort of) in NetPositive.
