Hello! I have come with a possible FAQ here: we had a buildbot set up that ran on Haiku to make sure each commit still built correctly for the OS...but now we're on GitHub and have turned off the buildbot. So I want to get an equivalent on GitHub Actions.

Has anyone done anything like this? I'm thinking I'm going to need a cross-compiler that builds Haiku binaries from Linux, and a reasonable way to get that compiler onto a random Linux machine without building the toolchain from scratch each time.

Btw.. ham is supposed to be planet wide replacement for jam(?).. so major heroic kudoes.

This means.. hopefully linux perforce jam will be replaced with ham and for making the targets for whatever in linux even for haiku. If my thinking isn't replaced with a half eaten bannna.

Purely psychological. Seeing jam was used in linux why not ham. I know. Make it a separate arguement. No one asked if ham would exist in windows or macos either. I think if a hierarchical paradigm shift isn't recognized.. thats not good for working in the other os's anyway. Same tool.. just built for modern challenges met.

Is tiff somehow connected to the internals for Haiku? I can get the latest 4.4.0 to build for secondary architecture but not for primary (gcc2), getting parse errors there

legendaryamerican: Ham has some platform specific assumptions for Unix-like systems just because that's what it was built on, but everything platform specific is marked and should be attainable to abstract. The hope is to have Ham run on all POSIX systems, Mac, and Windows :)

Or honestly, if the refactor goes well it will run on anything that implements the C++ filesystem library and the C stdlib
