any of the devs has any input regarding removing "src/add-ons/kernel/bus_managers/tty/*" code? It seems to me that "generict/tty" and "driver/tty" already cover what that stubbed out "bus_manager/tty" was intended for.

andreasdr[m]: Oh, I missed the part regarding 3D HW accel. Anyway... even in that case... any small fix in either Haiku, or mesa, or whereever... I think it would still count! Sometimes fixing even a typo that no one has spotted can have big consecuenses!

Programs that rely on termios functions to access TTY devices (like the serial port I need to get working propertly)....

call some functions (like tcflush()) with integer parameters. But the tty module on Haiku was expecting some pointer instead...

that made those call fail with B_BAD_ADDRESS, and stuff like PySerial didn't work at all.

as even opening /dev/ports/pc_serial0 called tcsflush() :-D

With this patch, and the previous one (fixing some baudrate divisors on the pc_serial driver... I can use PySerial to connect with a real serial mouse, and properly get it to initialize.

(AGMS) That serial port problems reminds me that TuneTracker uses it to connect to audio and other relay switching devices. Though I expect you won't use switchers as much now when everything is done via audio streams on the network.
