<augiedoggie>
looks like i forgot to remove one of the cmake files from it
<Skipp_OSX>
although no that's in Deskbar and hasn't been submitted yet so nvm
<augiedoggie>
i'm switching it over to jam since it's simple enough
<Skipp_OSX>
if Tracker is leaking memory on change it would have to be because of thumbnails but I'm pretty sure it deletes and rebuilds the attributes correctly
<augiedoggie>
i'm not sure what a desktop change has to do with thumbnails
<Skipp_OSX>
like workspace change?
<Skipp_OSX>
what desktop change?
<augiedoggie>
wallpaper change
<Skipp_OSX>
wallpaper ok
<Skipp_OSX>
no clue there that hasn't changed in ages
<Skipp_OSX>
I believe it is in Tracker it's the DesktopWindow class
<augiedoggie>
jessicah: i forgot, it requires popt/popt_devel

Hi Diver... Is a .conf file the same as a .txt file?
<BrunoSpr>
or has it it's own mime-typ?
<Diver>
hi, normally .conf files are just text files
<BrunoSpr>
yes, thanks that what I was thinking.

Something strange (still investigating), launching TuxPaint from the Deskbar menu is fine, launching it from the recent applications in Deskbar doesn't seem to work?

<erysdren> "what's the status of Haiku and..." <- Up-to-date Mesa support but no graphics drivers yet, just software rendering.
<SamuraiCrow[m]>
At least in the current beta, that is. There is an experimental Radeon driver somewhere.
<braewoods_>
Chances are you'd probably need some way to reuse Linux driver code to realistically implement GPU support without a lot of hassle on Haiku. I think that's what FreeBSD does if I recall.

Hi folks. I'm taking a stab at building WordTsar on Haiku. Things seem to be going along fine, but I've encountered a file not found with /boot/system/develop/headers/gnu/stdlib.h. It's failing on line 13, which is #include_next <stdlib.h>
<HaikuUser2>
I'm not really sure where to go from here.
ClaudioM has joined #haiku
<augiedoggie>
it might help to see the full log, including what flags are being passed to gcc
<Diver>
HaikuUser2: do you have haiku_devel package installed? /system/develop/headers/gnu/stdlib.h is part of it
<HaikuUser2>
Yes, I do have it installed. And that stdlib.h file is there.

<HaikuUser2>
It should be noted that it's a Qt application, so I'm probably doing something wrong from the get-go.
<Diver>
have you updated system packages? may need a reboot
<HaikuUser2>
No, haven't updated anything in a few days.
<HaikuUser2>
Interesting. I used Paladin to build a makefile. Maybe that's why?
<HaikuUser2>
How did you get it to compile?
<augiedoggie>
cd src; qmake ..; make -j8
<HaikuUser2>
Yeah, that's much better. Thanks! Now I'll go read up more on Qt things. I really appreciate your help.
<augiedoggie>

I wonder why every once in a while Haiku chokes whilst trying to receive from the network, typically when I am running "git pull" or "pkgman update"
<dovsienko>
when this happens, one CPU core is 100% busy with what seems to be the [virtual] network card driver
<dovsienko>
in VirtualBox the NIC is "PCnet-FAST III" as recommended on the web site (AFAIR)

dovsienko: it's not
<waddlesplash>
we recommend ipro1000. PCnet devices on VBox usually cause problems
<waddlesplash>
they also do on FreeBSD apparently, not just us
