marcan: I set AttrPalmExclusionZonesDisable=0 /usr/share/libinput/50-system-apple.quirks and for me the touchpad behaves much better now again after restarting... However it looks like the quirks is your patch now and upstream libinput merged https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/merge_requests/897 which completly disables the palm rejection on Apple devices

I will comment there to maybe add the quirks approach instead of just disabling it, so at least I can set the quirk myself in instead of building libinput myself.
