<mkfv1>
how can i make a custom mode?
<x512[m]>
I thought that there are some very inefficient code in app_server that make it slow when multiple windows are opened, but the problem was Intel CPU power driver. Blacklisting Intel CPU power driver made app_server multiple magnitudes faster.
<x512[m]>
I feel that Trac bug report existed about making that.
<badkeming[m]>
x512: not sure if what I am about to say is related, but IME, it's smarter to use the intel "performance" power mode, because that throttles up freely and only throttles down on idle. the "powersave" power mode prioritises to keep frequency low at all times.
<badkeming[m]>
(as a general note, not sure if it applies to Haiku!)
<x512[m]>
"performance" power mode were always selected.
<badkeming[m]>
ok, so even with that, things were bad? Damn.

hello guys, just a regular user here. i just installed haiku to a secondary hdd and followed the guide and looked for the uefi bootloader file. but i can't find it on the drive. am i missing something?
<Miccet>

Miccet: Mmm, I have that folder even on my BIOS-based beta4 install, "/boot/system/data/platform_loaders" contains: "haiku_loader.bios_ia32", "haiku_loader.efi", and "haiku_loader.pxe_ia32" :-/
<OscarL>
damn, another one where I reply too late :-D

Miccet: replied to you earlier, but you were gone... "/boot/system/data/platform_loaders" contains: "haiku_loader.bios_ia32", "haiku_loader.efi", and "haiku_loader.pxe_ia32" on my beta4 installation (non UEFI install).
<Miccet>
Ah sorry. I did install via UEFI, maybe that's why. I went ahead and installed the bootloader via the Tools menu and booting legacy.

<OscarL>
those files are part of the "haiku" base package, so I would expect them to be present in both cases.
<OscarL>
did you looked in the install media, right? (and not in the just installed but not yet booted from HDD)
<Miccet>
It specifically mentioned not to look at the live media. I tried creating a separate efi partition with the correct name and everything.
<Miccet>
but nothing there, nor in my secondary drive's efi part.
