Is there anything like linux's 'ldd' command to show the library dependencies of a given ELF binary?
OscarL has joined #haiku
<phschafft>
isn't there a objdump?
<OscarL>
egrath: lddtree
<phschafft>
what OscarL said.
<OscarL>
good day phschafft :-)
<phschafft>
:)
<OscarL>
egrath: it is part of the "pax_utils" package. You can install it either with "pkgman install pax_utils", or "pkgman install cmd:lddtree"
<egrath>
OscarL, phschafft: used objdump now, thanks for the hint! Used the command: "objdump -p write-card | grep NEEDED" which shows the desired information.
<OscarL>
that works too :-)
<phschafft>
generally speaking objdump is the 'correct' tool that provides all the details. but the *ldd* tools often provide a much more user friendly way when you just want to know what is being loaded.
<egrath>
what i miss from objdump compared to ldd is the information from where the referenced shared objects will get loaded
<phschafft>
hm?
<OscarL>
I'm still using a bash function "lgrep" that I've stole from mmu_man in 2003/2004... it loops through the .so in /boot/system/lib, calling "nm $lib | grep $1" to find the library that references the given symbol.

Hi cocobean
<andreasdr[m]>
It just does start and then exists. It gives some output before.
<andreasdr[m]>
With the 7950
<andreasdr[m]>
Maybe I should send x512 this output
<andreasdr[m]>
I tested the graphics board with Linux
<andreasdr[m]>
Works 100%

I could not get the Radeon 7950 to run with Haiku and RadeonGfx. On Linux the card seems to be really nearly usable for nicer GFX. Would need to check deeper.
