hi jmairboeck !
<jmairboeck>
Hi Begasus
<Begasus>
doing an update on TeXstudio, with texlive packages in the REQUIRES :)
<Begasus>
working fine!
<jmairboeck>
nice, Begasus!
<Begasus>
not including the language files, as they are user specific
mooes has joined #haiku
<Begasus>
for the files sent to me by Bruno I only needed to install the german language pack
<Begasus>

error i get in a program (not haiku related) :I must not crash. Uncertainty is the mind-killer. Exceptions are the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will fully express my cases. Execution will pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will unwind the stack along its path. Where the cases are handled there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
<Anarchos>
funny :)
<Begasus>
;)
<Anarchos>
Begasus i saw your comments on my BeTeX pull request. Must find time to address them

Anarchos, forgot what comment that was :)
<Anarchos>
Begasus Patch doesn't apply, getting fails on Makefile (did a srcGitRev with latest commit and this PR as a patch)

I still have to test it for real, but I already found some minor bugs so far. Like when you quit it resets the Haiku OS Screen resolution to the default one
<Javanx>
so I lose my custom resolution configured in Screen every time I start it :D
<Javanx>
I suspect it might be caused by their own internal fork of SDL

<PulkoMandy>
It is probably caused by a bug also present in upstream sdl, other sdl apps are or were affected
matt3 has left #haiku [#haiku]
<Javanx>
When compiling with SDL it doesn't have that issue, but the rendering area is offsetted and thus doesn't work well
<Javanx>
sorry SDL2

BrunoSpr: unfortunately, you have to install all the texlive_lang* packages because it is configured for all formats and needs all hyphenation patterns (in this case it looks for the Afrikaans one and doesn't find it, but the error message will appear for all languages)
<jmairboeck>
I consider this a packaging bug, but I don't know how to fix it

<Begasus>
jmairboeck, what was the issue earlier with texstudio?
<Begasus>
for Bruno*
<jmairboeck>
I think this is a general problem
<Begasus>
I only got the packages installed mentioned in REQUIRES for texstudio, only had to install the german language pack to be able to build the examples provided by Bruno
<Begasus>
had indeed the lang packages installed earlier before I removed them to check
Blendie has joined #haiku
<jmairboeck>
openSUSE generates the formats in a post-install script and includes only the actually installed ones, but I haven't investigated how that is done
<jmairboeck>
but, for now, I think you need all the language packages unfortunately
<Begasus>
the ones listed (and commented out) in the recipe were enough to get it working here

hello
<Begasus>
'lo Anarchos
<Begasus>
cleaned everything I could find for texlive
<Begasus>
bugger ... new version around also ...
<Begasus>
k, got the same problem mentioned by Bruno (but update.sh is still running in the background), will check again once it's finished
<Begasus>
same ...
<Begasus>
same after installing langgerman, installed langother now
<Begasus>
will go through the list untill it's working :)

jmairboeck, loadhyp-eu.tex should be supplied by langeuropean right?
<jmairboeck>
I think so, yes
<jmairboeck>
"eu" is basque
<Begasus>
langfrench? ...
<jmairboeck>
you can check /boot/system/data/texlive/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb, it contains all the packages and files
<jmairboeck>
ah, yes
<Begasus>
with your changes pkgman helps out too :)
<jmairboeck>
yes, if you know the TeX package name, installing it should be easy now
<jmairboeck>
you can open the texlive.tlpdb in a text editor, search for the file name to easier find the package name
<Anarchos>
jmairboeck "eu" might be for "euskara" aka basque
<jmairboeck>
yes
<jmairboeck>
apparently they have sorted it with the french "collection"
<Begasus>
asked this before I remember, but can't seem to find "loadhyph-be.tex"?
<jmairboeck>
be is belarussian I think, so that would be langcyrillic
<jmairboeck>
because "Belgian" isn't a language ;)
<Begasus>
a bit confusing ;) if I think of "be" I think of "Belgium" ;)
<Begasus>
tsss :P
dcatt has quit [Quit: Vision[]: i've been blurred!]
<Begasus>
well, we got 3 native languages here, not always that easy :)
<jmairboeck>
I know, languages and Belgium seems to be always complicated
<jmairboeck>
I wonder what the Swiss do better ...

jmairboeck, from the list in the PR for texstudio the only ones "not" installed are: langgreek, langjapanese and langkorean, this seems to work for the tex files I got from Bruno
<Begasus>
I'm not sure if other lang* packages are required when doing other tex files?

ok, I think japanese and korean don't have any hyphenation, greek is a bit more unexpected, but honestly, I don't know
<Begasus>
had langgreek installed it seems, just added japanese and korean to the new recipe to be sure
