<rennj>
impressive resume!
<rennj>
bfs and c++ multithreading was win win...
<rennj>
compared to winblows95/98/nt/2k or linux ext2
<rennj>
irc and email from file-manager ftw!
<rennj>
beos bfs attribs extend the db feature of filesystem
<rennj>
sort email with from to subject lines, or irc
<rennj>
right in the filemanager...
<rennj>
background daemon pulled periodically cron/atd from servers...
<rennj>
wait not irc but usenet/newsgroups and email
<rennj>
heh
<rennj>
usenet/email/gopher could have been all done in file-manager

not bad for gulrak_filesystem (thanks on the pointer there jessicah! :)
<Begasus>
some of the failed tests related to creating hard links, so expected
<rennj>
hard links vs soft ...crossing the partition boundary's
<rennj>
those who dont learn unix repeat it badly...
<rennj>
everything is file unix vs everything is stream m$/vms/winblows

everything is byte in memory = c

g'morning nephele
<Begasus>
thanks on the update for doxygen
<Begasus>
Once the patch gets upstreamed to filesystem no need to patch that anymore :)
<nephele>
That's nice :), i only updated it to 1.9.6 since i needed it for testing
<Begasus>
current patch for doxygen is merged, but won't be needed if filesystem.hpp is updated there
<jmairboeck>
or tk recipe is as current as it gets, because we use an SDL based version for now. The official one is broken and more complex things don't work because of problems with xlibe. waddlesplash knows more about that.
<Begasus>
ah right, think I remember something about that

[haikuports/haikuports] Begasus 0406dbf - tcllib, new recipe (#7867)

Muahahaaa! It's ALIVE! (I've just revived an almost 20 years old small driver I've never published). I give you: https://github.com/OscarL/it87
<OscarL>
it's a driver for the "Environmental Controller" function on the ITE87xx "SuperIO" chips found on some motherboards.
<OscarL>
It basically lets you monitor the motherboard voltages, temps, and fan speeds.
<OscarL>
Not much, but... at least now I can monitor the voltages, and see if my work in progress undervolting tool for older AMD CPUs is working or not :-D
<bjorkintosh>
good job.
<AlienSoldier>
all sperm... all drivers are precious
<AlienSoldier>
anyone know if video card do 240 × 160 (GBA resolution). I want to use a small CRT do do that and not have to rely on resolution interpolation.
<AlienSoldier>
I know haiku is still racist for very low resolution :(
<bjorkintosh>
choosy, you mean?
<AlienSoldier>
does not have the same impact :P
<AlienSoldier>
it does not make haiku a nice retro gaming rig as it is for now.
<dqk>
the smallest a pc could do was 160x100 in glorious 16 color text mode on a cga card
<dqk>
however, i don't think cga emulation is present anymore
<dqk>
the smallest you can get if i'm not mistaken is 320x200

<jessicah>
AlienSoldier: don't think it's a haiku issue, pretty sure most video bios these days don't report such low resolutions
<jessicah>
OscarL: nice work :)
<OscarL>
thanks jessicah :-)
<jessicah>
oof, think I might have finally nailed the llvm 15 recipe
<OscarL>
Seems the W83627 SuperIO chips from Winbond are similar enough in operation that I should be able to write a driver for those too.
<jessicah>
such a pita
<jessicah>
how old are systems with those chips?
* OscarL
stays away of such big packages... he's CPUs are way too slow to compile anything bigger than Python :-D
<OscarL>
jessicah: judging by the age of my motherboards... around 13/15 years :-D
<jessicah>
damn, so space heaters :p haha
<OscarL>
Phenom II X4... gets a bit toasty with the small heatsink I have... thus the need to undervolt it :-D
<jessicah>
is a rpi faster? :p
<jessicah>
lol
* OscarL
hugs his old PC telling it "shhh, do not listen to her! She's just kidding." while he sobs silently.
<OscarL>
At least it beats my Atom N450 :-P
