I'm not seeing any perl related thing in the recipe for watchdog, and file_sharedir is only a few days old, so shouldn't interfere there
<OscarL>
I must have just dreamt about augiedoggie touching a package named pathtools (as I can't find such commit now, LOL).
<OscarL>
(seems I got mixed that one with augie's touching some python recipes, and complaining about them :-P)
<Begasus>
file_sharedir missed a dependency, he fixed that
<OscarL>
a miracle that those names collition do not happen more ofthen (and I guess that's the reason for so many "xxx_python" names on Debian, for example)
<Begasus>
Gentoo also has perl/pathtools, doesn't provide one for python it seems (repology)
<OscarL>
seems it was named "python_pathtools" around 2016 on HaikuPorts.
<Begasus>
jmairboeck, as mentioned in the PR, I think we can probably kick python pathtools, haven't checked newer whatchdog (Gentoo doesn't even provide a package there for pathtools) :)
<Begasus>
but thanks for commenting on the issue :)

np, Begasus. I was just reading the discussion on IRC and thought about that general issue with python packages :)
<jmairboeck>
openSUSE handles this by prefixing all python and perl packages with "python<version>-" or "perl-" respectively, but we have the python version as a suffix usually because of how haikuporter works.
<Begasus>
we got the problem that we can't use more then one dash in a recipes name

k, untill nothing pops up I think boost1.83 should be good enough to merge and testing/reports can be done on it
<jmairboeck>
very nice, Begasus!
<Begasus>
quick check here with patchelf worked out fine too :)
<jmairboeck>
I'm making good progress on x86-ifying and cleaning up the perl recipes btw :)
<Begasus>
did a full rebuild of all dependencies earlier today for frozen-bubble jmairboeck, still had no luck launching it
<Begasus>
maybe it still takes some gcc2 ones? (as primary doesn't exclude x86_gcc2)
<jmairboeck>
I will see when I get to it :)

I shared a screenshot of something from Haiku today because I was working from my "distraction free" environment, and my coworkers were commenting on how pretty Haiku looks.

I also experience hiccups in sound, try going into media settings - HD Audio (intel, right?) and toggle frequencies for a while. That helps in my case

no hickups here. probably depends on the exact hardware combo...
<humdinger>
You could also changing buffer size

Toggle freq. has no effect. How can I change buffer size?
