Hi. When my macbook pro m1 is connected to an external screen via the HDMI port, closing the lid makes the external screen go black. How can I fix it so that I can continue to use the laptop even when the lid is closed?

Sorry, I have another question regarding USB-C hubs: I tried 2, both having some USB ports, power delivery and ethernet.

None of the USB ports worked. On the first one ethernet is working, but not power delivery. The second one is the mirror: ethernet not working; power delivery working.

What could be the cause? Is it low quality hub, or some features missing in Asahi? Do you have any recommendations for a HUB that works (at least a bit more: having both power delivery and ethernet working would be a very nice step forward).

when updating to 41 i lost a modification that was enabling full display use of the notch area. i got it back by reapplying the kernel arg to the new kernel using grubby.

the option was apple_dcp.show_notch=1. is there a list of apple specific kernel options i can read through? and, is there a way to make it so i don't have to apply it manually to the next kernel update?

a similar option for fn key behaviour/ mode would be cool if it doesn't already exist. i think i've got something set in a udev rule somewhere?

pakupaku normally on macos this is configurable, by default the external screen goes black on battery power (the system goes on standby) but stays on when connected to power

pakupaku Well to be fair this is partly guesstimation on my part - I have an m3 so I cannot test it. There might very well be a way to configure this on asahi
