10:49 <Zeroine> It's just that I've only seen people booting back to MacOS and using diskutil there to do this kind of stuff

11:11 <Zeroine> Also, maybe someone knows a more convenient way to this kind of resizing on the rootfs? I would normally boot from a USB but that is kind of inconvenient on macs. I can boot into the initramfs with rd.break but it's missing fdisk and other basic things so I gotta copy over the binaries and shared libraries before unmounting the root partition. I guess I could write a script for that though.

11:46 <fl0_id> I guess one reason why ppl use macos is because it's easy to boot into (unless you deleted it). Generally resizing should be fine, f.e. some operations especially just making things bigger might even work on the live system. For reducing the size of the macos apfs container, apple tools are prob safer? (maybe others know better)
