andreasdr[m], geany hasn't been checked on 64bit yet, so if you're able to setup haikuporter etc it would be nice if you could check it there :)

skirst it works fine for me

Funny : Terminal --> Screen & sleep 1;hey -o Screen SET Value OF View 2 OF View 0 OF View 0 OF Window 0 TO 256 ;sleep 1;
<Anarchos>
the slider moves, but brightness stays the same :)
<Skipp_OSX>
every time of some of the time?
<Skipp_OSX>
It should call SetValue() which should call Invoke() which should send a message. It's possible that the target of that message (BScreen most likely) is not receiving it because of different thread context.
<Anarchos>
Skipp_OSX every time
<Anarchos>
Skipp_OSX you can test it easily !

I remember a similar issue being reported for a checkbox I added somewhere and in the end I decided not to care.
<PulkoMandy>
why are you doing that? you can use the screenmode command to set the brightness :)
<Anarchos>
PulkoMandy i do that to uncover hidden bugs :)
<Anarchos>
and it was a way to learn scripting
Maylay has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<PulkoMandy>
well is it really a bug? I don't expect people to poke around the GUI with hey. We should provide actual scripting "suites" that allow to directly control things
<PulkoMandy>
if you could do "hey Screen SET Value OF Brightness TO 256" it would be a lot better
Maylay has joined #haiku
<Anarchos>
PulkoMandy sure. and finally, i use screenmode... I was thinking to add a call to screenmode in my userbootscript, to change brightness according to current time at startup :)
