<micken> hoho
<micken> launch_daemon starts but ends up in data abort loop
<micken> about expected
<micken> where can the exception handler be... not so nice with loop , want to shutdown output :)
<waddlesplash> yes, I think this is what davidkaroly said ont he forums too
<waddlesplash> something is NULL and it gets locked on that
<micken> yes
<micken> is there a symbol map or something like that?
<micken> but dunno
<micken> mmu is on

<waddlesplash> micken: oh keep in mind that some rather important patches are still on gerrit
<waddlesplash> including, I think, kernel syscalls handler
<waddlesplash> symbols are enabled by default. however there may be problems with lookup or something in the kernel backtrace handler idk
<waddlesplash> haiku doesn't support running without mmu and never will
<micken> ofc
<micken> riscos is also mmu only , and so are most systems except for amigas

<micken> waddlesplash: in riscos we have a single rom file.. every module in it has fixed offsets , at least a start to hunt aborts with
<micken> not always easy though
<micken> But I ask myself right now, why go with 32 bit arm?
<micken> It is a pretty doomed route
<micken> Actually one of the reasons for sudden interesst in Haiku :)

IT ask me to install wine, i agree. it start to download wine 5.0, donwload bar increase but at the end it says "there ins no version of wine installed. would you bla bla.". the same for wine 4.0. I removed adn reistalled boxedwine: same behaviour. Note: when i go on the "install" tab of boxedwine menu, it

<humdinger> yeah, I do the german myself :)
<humdinger> new option is to sort the favourites to the top of the results list
<BlueSky76> Ah great, gotta try it out later. I like QuickLaunch a lot, on of the first tools I always install on a new Haiku system

<kallisti5> that looks like something haiku bootstrap is passing to haikuporter

<humdinger> maybe "barrage"?
<humdinger> The actual
<humdinger> wrong channel...
<Anarchos> humdinger i tried this : GLOBAL_WRITABLE_FILES="var/betex/templates directory auto-merge \ var/betex/templates/beos.tex"
<Anarchos> but idon't know how to copy the file beos.tex in the INSTALL part
<Anarchos> and i got :
<Anarchos> Warning: POLICY ERROR: Package declares non-existent global writable directory "var/betex/templates" as included
<Anarchos> yes but i didn't find what i miss
<humdinger> "If no other keyword is given after the path respectively after the "directory" keyword, the file or directory is not included in the package. It will be created by the software or by the user."
<Anarchos> that is why i put auto-merge
<humdinger> then the package has to provide the file, I'd say. Question now is how...
<Anarchos> Warning: skipping barrage-1.0.5, as it is untested on the target architecture.
<humdinger> yeah, not in HaikuDepot either. dopewar is.
<humdinger> It has the declred file in /var. It's not obvious in the recipe how it's done. maybe when it's building?
<Anarchos> i will look
<Anarchos> dopewars seems to build here

<humdinger> ?

<Anarchos> humdinger no it is correct
<humdinger> maybe if you posted your recipe, others can havea look and spot the issue.
<humdinger> not necessarily me, ofc :)
<Anarchos> humdinger
<Anarchos> sure
* Anarchos is idle: BRB
<humdinger> Anarchos: for some reason, a keyword (auto-merge etc.) is required. No idea though, as the docs seems to say those are optional...
<humdinger> maybe you can leave out those files you don't provide a keyword for. those aren't part of the package then anyway, I suppose.
<humdinger> Those betex.tex and beos.tex templates are still in the package, even if not declared themselves. Their parent template directory seems to suffice.
<humdinger> anyway...
