<Anarchos>
where can i find documentation on how to use GLOBAL_WRITABLE_FILES in recipes ?
<Anarchos>
i would like to have a writable directory, and two templates files in it 'var/betex/templates' with two templates in it. The directory needs to be writable cause betex will create temporary latex files there.

PSA:
<humdinger>
Thanks to augiedoggie QuickLaunch gained a new option that needs translations.
<BlueSky76>
humdinger: German translation is already done I guess :-) What's the new option in QuickLaunch?
<humdinger>
yeah, I do the german myself :)
<humdinger>
new option is to sort the favourites to the top of the results list
<BlueSky76>
Ah great, gotta try it out later. I like QuickLaunch a lot, on of the first tools I always install on a new Haiku system

<micken>
when trying @bootstrap-raw I get /bin/sh: line 48: --all-dependencies: command not found both in arm and arm64
<micken>
just like a missing '\'
<kallisti5>
micken: weird. maybe update your haikuporter repo?
<kallisti5>
that looks like something haiku bootstrap is passing to haikuporter

<humdinger>
Anarchos: I' m no expert wrt recipes or global writables... but what is the problem?
<Anarchos>
humdinger i don't know how to achieve my need . I just know that i have to use the GLOBAL_WRITABLE_FILES variable, but i could not find a example using it with /boot/var
<humdinger>
"If no other keyword is given after the path respectively after the "directory" keyword, the file or directory is not included in the package. It will be created by the software or by the user."
<Anarchos>
that is why i put auto-merge
<humdinger>
then the package has to provide the file, I'd say. Question now is how...
<Anarchos>
Warning: skipping barrage-1.0.5, as it is untested on the target architecture.
<humdinger>
yeah, not in HaikuDepot either. dopewar is.
<humdinger>
It has the declred file in /var. It's not obvious in the recipe how it's done. maybe when it's building?

<Anarchos>
what is that ?
<humdinger>
maybe a typo in "auto-merge"
<humdinger>
?
ablyss has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<Anarchos>
humdinger no it is correct
<humdinger>
maybe if you posted your recipe, others can havea look and spot the issue.
<humdinger>
Anarchos: for some reason, a keyword (auto-merge etc.) is required. No idea though, as the docs seems to say those are optional...
<humdinger>
maybe you can leave out those files you don't provide a keyword for. those aren't part of the package then anyway, I suppose.
<humdinger>
Those betex.tex and beos.tex templates are still in the package, even if not declared themselves. Their parent template directory seems to suffice.
<humdinger>
anyway...
