<Begasus>
the error on rebuilding sdl_ttf is unrelated to the other error
<Begasus>
will look into that, patch isn't that hard, but tackling boost first

damex, if you can fix StreamRadio I'm all in to check it :)

Begasus. Cool, I'll ping you if/when I get it to run

+1 :)

Thanks on the update on haikuporter PulkoMandy (as I'm using a git version it doesn't bother me, but for those installing it with HD it's an improvement) :)
<PulkoMandy>
yes, just saw some easy to fix issues in haikuports bugtracker, so I fixed them :)

On the commit, shouldn't "cmd:python3" be the one for python3.9?
<Begasus>
So maybe it didn't need the change for that (anyway build is fine on buildmaster)

Maybe X-Mas present? (don't know though how far it is and if there aren't any block stoppers)

Working fine for me on the RC though

I managed to compile StreamRadio. It runs but I'm getting a segmentation violation when trying to "paste a shoutcast url".

Hi OscarL !
<OscarL>
Hello there Begasus!
<damex>
It looks like the signature of BUrlProtocolRoster::MakeRequest has changes. It doesn't accept an HttpIOReader anymore. I tried giving it a BMallocIO instead but it crashes
<OscarL>
Saw your reply. I have a 32 bit beta4 install to test (just need to update it, and actually build there :-D)
<damex>

Anything I could do to checkup on gutenprint9 for gcc2 OscarL (atm still looking into building boost170)
<OscarL>
Begasus: did gutenprint9 worked before on gcc2?
<Begasus>
OscarL, not sure, but iirc the build for prior version was still OK?
<OscarL>
I don't know how to test it yet, sadly :-D
<Begasus>
Ask Vidrep (or if you have a printer connected I think it should work through gutenprint?)
<OscarL>
Begasus: I only see the _86 version here: https://depot.haiku-os.org/#!/?bcguid=bc1-KTSN&repos=haikuports&arch=x86_gcc2&viewcrttyp=FEATURED&srchexpr=gutenprint9
<Forza>
Rc0 seems OK for me too :)
<OscarL>
*_x86
<Begasus>
Ah, thought it was OK OscarL , maybe it was broken before then ... it's an issue when people don't follow up when something gets merged :(
<OscarL>
Hey... good thing I tend to check the buildmasters then :-P
<Begasus>
like I know sdl_ttf is broken atm due to the check for freetype, but I have something to check there once I'm done with boost
<OscarL>
(at least after you kindly complained about me not doing so, he he :-D)
<Begasus>
Hence I created an issue for it :P
<Begasus>
k, build completed for boost170, collecting files (should give an error on the shared/static libs in a bit) :)

OscarL, if gutenprint9 isn't used by any other packages for primary arch maybe disable it?
<OscarL>
Begasus: I meant to ask you about doing just that, yes.
<Begasus>
However I think it's somehow integrated in Haiku (think I saw some discussion about it when updating?)
<Begasus>
IIRC Haiku is still using gutenprint8?

Vidrep_64: hello there!
<OscarL>
I did some build fixes for gutenprint, but I don't know how to properly test the resulting libs. Begasus told me I should ask you about it.
<OscarL>
(apparently, gutenprint9 was already broken for the gcc2 libs, even before my recipe chages)
<OscarL>
And we were wondering if maybe we should just disable the gcc2 for that one... assuming it is not used for some system components (and is not planed to be).
<Vidrep_64>
Gutenprint printer drivers have been working all along for me on 64 bit. However, the package we're using is a few years out of date.
<Vidrep_64>
The currently installed package on my system is Gutenprint 8 5.3.1-2
<Vidrep_64>
So, you mean does the pacakge still build on haikuports?
<OscarL>
builds for both gutenprint8 (5.3.1) and gutenprint9 (5.3.4) fail on beta4 due to <dirent.h> changes on Haiku.
<Vidrep_64>
The test builds?
<OscarL>
Before attempting to do any update, I just wanted to make those build again, and they do with that #7573 PR.
<OscarL>
Didn't see any TEST() on the recipe and asumed there were none. Will check again.
<OscarL>
"> make test" "Nothing to be done for 'test'" :-/
<OscarL>
Aha... it's "make checks"
<OscarL>

OscarL, so exeactly what do you need me to do/ try building from the recipe on both 32 and 64 bit, then test if they both work with my printers?
xet7 has joined #haiku
<OscarL>
Just asking if you knew how to do some test on the resulting libgutenprint.so...
<OscarL>
I don't really even know what uses those libs :-D
<OscarL>
(and don't have any printers)
<Vidrep_64>
For what it's worth, I just tried to build Gutenprint8 and Gutenprint9 on 64 bit and both failed
<Vidrep_64>
I did a git pull of haikuports and haikuporter before i attempted the builds
<OscarL>
My changes are not merged yet :-/
<Vidrep_64>
Once they are, let me know, and I can try again
<Vidrep_64>
The problem I've encountered is that there is no way to use the Gutenprint9 driver package on Haiku without uninstalling Gutenprint8 first. However, package manager wants to uninstall a long list of packages first.
<Vidrep_64>
Waddlesplash explained it to me a couple of years ago, but I cannot recall details
<OscarL>
I assumed the idea is only to merge working recipes, thus wanting to test the libs before merging :-D. No worries thou.
<OscarL>
Yeah... that thing regaring the actual updating of those packages is outside my skillset :-D
<OscarL>
*regarding
<OscarL>
"make check" seems to take forever (for gutenprint8 5.3.1)
<OscarL>
the one for gutenprint9 (5.3.4) failed early: "FAIL: check_duplicate_printers.test" :-(

does "git pull" from review.haiku-os.org works for the rest of you? I can't seem to pull nor push from/to that server (but I can pull from the Github mirror)
<jessicah>
OscarL: for cloning, no... I always clone from github first, then add review as a second remote and fetch --all --tags
<OscarL>
It used to work for me (albeit REALLY slow for push, okeish speeds for pull). Now it does neither :-(
<jessicah>
I've just done a fetch from review, seems ok atm
<OscarL>
Alright, jessicah, thanks. So... network problems on my side I guess.
<jessicah>
maybe... I'd try a fetch first, see if that works
<OscarL>
I just wanted to add the B_BACKGROUND_APP flag to "/bin/dstcheck" (and /bin/fortune).
<jessicah>
;-)
<OscarL>
it bugsme that it dstcheck appears on Deskbar's Recent application menu right at boot :-D
<OscarL>
(Ultra-awesome patchset, I know :-P)
<jessicah>
and yet still a good change
<OscarL>
"git fetch" also gets stuck after asking for the passphrase.... oh well.
<jessicah>
use https for fetch
<OscarL>
already got latest changes from github.
<jessicah>
I always use https for fetch, then set push to authenticated ssh
<jessicah>
git remote set-url --push ssh://...
<jessicah>
err, git remote set-url --push name ssh://..
<OscarL>
ah, nice. Thanks! (I had just set gh-mirror as a remote for when the main repo gives me problems).
