aka.. anything with an identical size but different contents is the "same"

including repo.sha256 which is always the same length 😆

<kallisti5[m]>
ha, true. I generally try to spam info into tickets (even old ones) for future people with similar issues
<OscarL>
Awesome. I hate old forum post with the same problem/question I have... where the last post is: "Ok, I figured out. Bye guys."... and no solution was ever typed :-D
<Halian|Haiku>
Unplugging it seems to have stopped the lag spikes
<OscarL>
Welp... progress!
<Halian|Haiku>
How do I blacklist a USB device?
<Halian|Haiku>
...or I could just leave it unplugged X3
<OscarL>
I would suggest you to do the following... remove the "/var/system/log/syslog" file and reboot. Plug that USB device... wait for the spikes to occurr, unplug the device... and get a copy of that syslog to attach on a new ticket
<Halian|Haiku>
OK
<OscarL>
(along with the output of "listusb")
<OscarL>
I'm not sure if blacklisting a particular USB device is possible.
<OscarL>
We need to ask to the actual developers, or more experienced users.
<Halian|Haiku>
And no lag spikes when plugging it back in

Back; new bootloader works just the same as old, that is to say I have to explicitly choose the boot volume every time, as the initial scan picks "none"
<OscarL>
Sorry, I was away.
<OscarL>
Good on the lack of spikes and working keyboard! Yay! :-D
<OscarL>
Regarding the bootloader, I'm of no help here at all, as all my systems are BIOS/MBR only :-(

It's alright

Could you take a look at this ticket, to see if it matches the exact problems you had with your Walmart keyboard?
<OscarL>
And if so...
<OscarL>
it would be nice if you added a comment there, stating on which version it didn't worked, the USB id of the device, and your current revision.
<OscarL>
just compare your "symptoms" with the ones from the description... the rest of the comments drift a bit.

re: the USB keyboard ticket... Thanks!
<OscarL>
Regarding that Python issue...
<OscarL>
There were some issues when changing the default Python version from 3.7 to 3.9, sadly.
<OscarL>
I think I remember a ticket for that... let me see.
<OscarL>
regarding yt_dlp vs youtube_dl, most of the time, you can simply create a "youtube_dl" symlink to yt_dlp, and programs that use youtuve_dl might not even notice the difference :-D
<matt3>
is there a tutorial to change repo to b4 ?
<PulkoMandy>
Bootloader not finding the partition would normally be because your Haiku partition does not have the right GPT type. I think there are recent fixes to drivesetup to set the correct type by default so maybe try deleting and recreating your system partition (not just reformating)
<matt3>
ah, PulkoMandy : in /system/app there is bootman ...
<matt3>
boot from usb and after run /system/app/bootmanager
<matt3>
choose from uefi or legacy ... ;)

Anarchos: Yes, from my experience you can do PRs quite safely from Web+. Did it quite a few times lately. The only annoying thing with Web+ and Github (not only on pull requests) is that you can't read the text on some buttons. As long as you're familiar enough with Github to know which button is the right one, you're good ;-)
