What was the repo url for r1beta1? can we re-use this? I would like to see if we can "hijack" that url and add a slightly updated haiku version with a tool to update to beta5 directly
<MonniTheCat>
Then we would need to do same for beta2...beta4 too...

what's up for today?
<OscarL>
need to tweak a bit one PR for Pe, after korli's suggestions.
<Begasus>
finetuning then :)
<OscarL>
right now, looking around to see if we can just drop the older version of "libnatpmp".
<OscarL>
"waiting for build package [...] to be deactivated" :-(
<Begasus>
deactivated? unmout issue?
<OscarL>
noup. clean build after just booting up. just that darn packagefs/haikuporter bug.
<OscarL>
I see it more often on 32 bits, for some reason.
<Begasus>
I guess you mean "activated" then?
<OscarL>
no, "deactivated".
<Begasus>
haven't seen that too much, and mostly triggered by myself :)
<OscarL>
worked fine after "hp -c torrentor_x86" (previous build was also "clean", as work-dirs are in RAM, and I had just booted up).
<OscarL>
mmm, another app_server crash :-/
<OscarL>
something's up with using the VMware driver on newer VirtualBox. (used to work pretty well, I might have some weird setting on this new VM file).

<nephele_xmpp>
It is exclusive for haiku
<nephele_xmpp>
doesn't work on any other OS
<Begasus>
OK, my bad then, but I'm not sure how we could handle this on haikuports side, isn't that something done at the depot side?
<OscarL>
k, we can drop old libnatpmp version. Transmission is the only one using it, and already uses the newer one (the only one available on depot)
<Begasus>
+1
<OscarL>
I had some WIP on making Torrentor! use that lib too (instead of its embedded copy), but that can wait.

I'm starting to think that my frequent context-menus related Tracker crashes are due to the right button microswitch being "noisy" (guess it doesn't has proper debouncing)

dilema is... do I change said microswitch to avoid crashes, or leave it be, to reveal those Tracker issues? :-)

Is it somehow possible to have a language selection in my app (which has always been there) when switching to LocaleKit instead of some custom translation engine?
<nipos>
I rewrote the whole thing to make use of the LocaleKit everywhere and it works fine when simply using the system language.But if I try B_CATALOG->SetTo("App signature", "custom language"),the B_CATALOG->InitCheck() fails with B_NO_INIT afterwards.Without the ->SetTo() call,the InitCheck works fine
<nipos>
Are there any apps I can check as example that use LocaleKit and allow overwriting the system language?

Yes, and that helped me a lot at implementing basic LocaleKit usage with only the system language. But I don't know any that allows to change the language in the applications own settings, to use a different language than the system.
<Begasus[m]>
Ah, as in changing the language in the application itself, not sure if that's possible
<Begasus[m]>
perhaps it could be done, but haven't really an answer on one that is already using it

<augiedoggie>
to replace the stock libtracker or Deskbar or ...
<OscarL>
(LD_PRELOAD did the trick)
<OscarL>
still quite annoying.
<Begasus>
what if Tracker crashes now? ;)
<OscarL>
augiedoggie: that sounds interesting. Currently, nothing prevents files with the same path/name for being "overloaded" from a package loaded later, right?
<augiedoggie>
yes, but the order isn't guaranteed
<OscarL>
(but one has no real control over the order packages are loaded)
<OscarL>
Begasus: We'll see. Too bad that now I need to stop Tracker/Deskbar, and restart them with LD_PRELOAD from UserBootScript, so I don't forget.
