Think I asked already… Anyone going to FOSDEM?

Haven't prepared anything nor got train tickets yet… I'll probably stay home this year :^)

<badkeming[m]>
Depends on your definition of Cold I suppose.
<badkeming[m]>
Warmer than Scandinavia and Canada I would assume.
<badkeming[m]>
But likely <10ºC
<badkeming[m]>
so if that's "cold" to you, then yes.

Hi, can anyone give me a hint on how to build a hpkg from a application living in haikus src/apps directory? I managed to build ResEdit using the information provided on how to fetch, configure and build the source on the webpage and some additional information in the IRC logs.
<egrath>
humdinger: thanks for the link, will read through it!
<humdinger>
though, if you don't have changes in a lib, native Haiku apps is often just the binary. no need to create a HPKG.
<egrath>
Yes, just needed ResEdit to follow DarkWyrms Haiku programming lessions :-) Is there any reason that ResEdit isn't included with the base install nor available in the repository?
<humdinger>
Dunno. I think it should be moved out of the Haiku sources to e.g. HaikuArchives.

hello people! I tried today to install Haiku on my Atom PC but the Loading process stops at the 4th icon (disks) saying that are some problems with some partitions. yesterday it loaded fully and I could use Haiku live on the same AtomPC. today I am left on a debug terminal (at the 4th icon/drive). any idea?
<AtomPC>
thank you for any idea that someone may have

<Tekktonic>
AtomPC Enabling logging would help. If it's an atom it should be bios, so holding down shift should give you the boot menu where you can enable it.
<AtomPC>
Tekktonic: yesterday the live worked just fine, I got online here by Visio with the very same USB stick and AtomPC. but sure I try
<Tekktonic>
I can't remember and can't find the relevant options with a quick search, but they were pretty self-evident
<Tekktonic>
Logging to console and something about not overwriting what's being logged?
<Tekktonic>
So that graphics don't get drawn over them I think
<AtomPC>
now I'm running from another PC, running on the live stick - could I just remove the live USB stick and push onto the AtomPC? I wonder if the Filesystem could be hurt since it may be open....

the errors are about other partirions existing on the AtomPC; something like "ext3 partition has bad header" and the same goes with the other fat32 partitions. I fsck-ed those partition but they are fine
<AtomPC>
the df command says that three FSes are mounted; /boot is "bfs" type, /boot/system and /boot/home/config as "packagefs"; how can I mount these Read-Only?
<Tekktonic>
Unfortunately from here we're beyond my expertise.
<Tekktonic>
But I'm sure someone welse will pop in.
<PulkoMandy>
I don't think you can. You'll have to shut down the machine to get your USB stick back safely
<AtomPC>
PulkoMandy: I need a way to "remount" a FS as "ReadOnly". does it exist?
