<pinaraf>
hi
<pinaraf>
silly question, if someone was stupid enough to write a LVM driver for haiku, would there be some interest in it ? (I don't know if I'll find the time to do it, but this is the lazyest way for me to install haiku on a physical machine :) )

Hi, I am currently using Haiku Rev 4. Still having issues getting any webcams to work. I have tried the Logitech C920 and the Microsoft Lifecam USB webcams and none are detected. Listing my USB devices shows that both are detected as Class Misc. Is Haiku still using the old webcam driver UVC?

andreasdr: Radeon HD 7950 is mo
<andreasdr[m]>
is mo?
<cocobean>
is more reasonable.
<andreasdr[m]>
Oh nice. Will check.

Thank you!

<waddlesplash>
activate_workspace(int32 workspace); defined in InterfaceDefs.h
<xoblite>
...that is, move to a specific workspace and bring the active window with you
<waddlesplash>
does exactly that
<waddlesplash>
oh, you mean with a ws, true
hightower3 has joined #haiku
<xoblite>
I think activate_workspace only moves to another workspace, i.e. the link.Attach boolean is false?
<waddlesplash>
yes, ok

I was about to suggest adding something like move_to_workspace(ws) but wasn't sure if I looked in the wrong place or not

<waddlesplash>
why do you need this?
<waddlesplash>
workspaces are for users to use, not apps
<xoblite>
Deskbar related stuff I'm working on. I can just copy the relevant private code of course, but that is fugly if there can be a public one added.
<xoblite>
It could also be a regular app requesting to go to a specific workspace for reasons XYZ of course.
<xoblite>
if I push a commit for such a few-liner, would you accept it? I can't see the danger in it, and it would expose functionality already present in the app server?
<augiedoggie_>
you can set the workspace flags of a window via the scripting api
<xoblite>
(the only difference compared to activate_workspace would be the boolean being true instead of false)
<xoblite>
augiedoggie_: yup, but that's not the use case here
<xoblite>
waddlesplash , what do you think?
<waddlesplash>
we could just add an optional parameter to activate_workspace
<waddlesplash>
and add an ABI kludge
<waddlesplash>
to avoid breaking ABI with the new function type
<xoblite>
that'd be another option of course, I agree

make the boolean default false

would you mind adding it, so the review process goes swifter? ;)

<x512[m]>
Aaaa! Wayland/GNOME philosophy in Haiku.
<xoblite>
ah sorry parallel discussion I guess

Hi, I just installed the newest release on my Thinkpad T61. Only thing is that while booting it needs the USB stick plugged in, otherwise it actually loads the Haiku bootloader but it does not find a hard drive? any ideas?
