hello! I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me understand how to use asahi inside UTM. When "Collecting system information..." in the installer, it says "Device class: vma2macosap", "Produt type: VirtualMac2,1". Is it possible to change these?
<tpw_rules>
why would you want to? UTM doesn't pass through any of the bare metal hardware asahi is designed to work with
<tpw_rules>
if you want to use linux with UTM just install your favorite distro's aarch64 edition

I'm wanting to demo installing OpenBSD with the minimal UEFI install and don't want to mess up my actual OS without testing it first
<supae>
obviously I can recover but I like the safety net
<tpw_rules>
i'm afraid that's not really possible. you could just install normal openbsd
<zzywysm>
supae: nothing about that makes sense
<supae>
??
<supae>
did it just send a message for me
<supae>
oh wait nvm
<zzywysm>
supae: no, i just mentioned your handle
<zzywysm>
supae: tpw_rules gave you the correct advice
<supae>
sorry, I'm using a new IRC client
<tpw_rules>
i haven't really heard of anyone messing anything up with the asahi installer. it's quite reliable
<tpw_rules>
and undo-able
<tpw_rules>
(once you use it it's certainly possible to dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/nvme0n1 or other similar commands and break things, and people have definitely done that)

supae: hmm, I see. I installed fedora just fine but going for a UEFI environment install of OpenBSD feels more disaster prone lol

I'll try it out though and see how it goes, OpenBSD provides instructions for it even though there's no mention of any *BSD on "SW:Alternative Distros"

rebooted and its normal again
<kidplayer666>
what the hell
<kidplayer666>
if anyone is curious on how this happened, i just had a konsole window over a libreoffice window and kept maximising and minimising the console
<kidplayer666>
a lot of times
<kidplayer666>
whether it actually caused this freak incident, i dont know

hej guys, has anyone gotten around this strange behaviour of firefox in kde plasma: i want it to restore the previously closed windows on the same virtual desktop they were closed on (so i don't have to rearrange 5+ windows to 5 desktops everytime i reopen firefox/reboot). toggling widget.disable-workspace-management in about:config doesn't seem to have an effect..

:/ ah, so it has to do with wayland..

the best suggestion I have is to use window rules in kde system settings. It would require that each has a unique window title though that reproduces.
