[haiku/haiku] cc455ef46164 - USB: Properly set and reset fFragmented for both SetVector and SetData.
<waddlesplash>
now that was quite the slate of USB fixes to get done all at once
<Coldfirex>
Waddlesplash: I saw that newer versions of musl are using mallocng. Was this the one that you (?) were wanting to test wth eventually?
<waddlesplash>
everyone with USB issues, especially weird stalls, please retest and report back once hrev55443 is available
<Coldfirex>
productive Monday!
<waddlesplash>
Coldfirex: yes
<waddlesplash>
see comments on Gerrit, it has some pathological cases that we need to address before we can use it

Ah, I see. At the least the debugger part
<waddlesplash>
anyway, I'm going to be out most of the week, so I wanted to get those USB fixes done before I'm out
<waddlesplash>
and indeed I think that fixes basically all the common KDL tickets and even some less common ones
<PulkoMandy>
ah, now I have an excuse to work on embedded devices stuff instead of Haiku, to test the USB stack with all the programmers and jtag probes and so
<waddlesplash>
isn't there that one EHCI bug remaining, though, were it somehow doesn't report stalled transfers all the time?
<PulkoMandy>
I'll see how I handle that. SPARC has ways to map things in the address space with hardware endian-swapping but I think that will only add even more confusion
<PulkoMandy>
but yes, one goal of the sparc port is improving portability :)
<Coldfirex>
Haiku: the new openbsd hah
<Coldfirex>
*netbsd

waddlesplash: "the USB stack is almost totally non-endian-aware": no problem with RISC-V. It use the same endian as x86.
<x512[m]>
The same for ARM.
<HaikuUser>
pls consider removing this anonymouse usage data sending question in the next version nobody wants to do it. It reminds me to that retarded debian package survey over the years I instaled debian to thousands of servers and workstations u can imagine how happy I was about reading that fucking question all the time, do you want to participate in the package survey? FUCK NO
<HaikuUser>
If you have graphics hw acceleration on Vmware host can the Haiku guest take advantage of it?
<waddlesplash>
x512[m]: indeed it's only an issue on BE
<waddlesplash>
USB is always LE so on LE arches all is well

weird VLC take a long while to load and appear on screen
<waddlesplash>
HaikuUser: we don't support any kind of graphics acceleration right now unfortunately
<x512[m]>
2D acceleration works for ATI driver and QEMU.
<x512[m]>
Hardware cursor also works, but only 1 bit black-white.
<AlienSoldier>
i free some memory and now it load ok

vlc still have that half fps problem in full screen that i think is related to interpolation problem because just a few pixel less than full screen play fullscreen.
<Begasus>
waddlesplash, just saw the PR for hblock, it's still using "any" should that be replaced with "all"?

I want to play around with building Haiku with the -fsanitize=address option. Looking at the ArchitectureRules file I dont think I can just add that option to any existing line can I?

Is that kernel support needed as a whole or could I still try to compile the apps with it?
<waddlesplash>
I think it's only needed in the kernel. in userland it needs a support library and some special allocators
<Coldfirex>
10-4. Looking for low hanging fruit like the wformat-security stuff

nm, doesnt look like I can
