<waddlesplash>
Vidrep_64: that is really weird. it uses ntfs twice??
<waddlesplash>
the first time it succeeds and then says out of memory
<waddlesplash>
do you have an ntfs driver in no packaged or something? or two haiku packages installed somehow, maybe one in ~/?
<waddlesplash>
open a ticket please either way, this is very strange
<Vidrep_64>
No to both questions
<Vidrep_64>
I tested another NTFS drive that will mount OK, and writing to the drive is much faster now. Deleting large files does not crash anymore either.
<Vidrep_64>
Previously writing speeds were in the kb/s speed range, now it's 12 - 14 Mb/s
<Vidrep_64>
I'll try these these same two thumb drives on my other PC, which has not been updated yet with the new driver
<Vidrep_64>
If they work, I'll grab a syslog before/after updating
<Vidrep_64>
waddlesplash, "this is very strange". My specialty :)
<PulkoMandy>
is there something there that particularly interests you? or do you have your own ideas what you'd like to work on?
<PulkoMandy>
depending on which parts you want to work on, it may be more convenient to work from haiku, or work cross-compiling from Linux and testing in a virtual machine. Also we can help find tasks that seem related to what you want to do, and start a discussion with the people who know that general area of Haiku (here or maybe on the forum or mailing lists)

ok, in that case the best thing to do is probably play with Haiku a bit, install some applications (if you're not using it already), and find an area you think needs improvements. If you want to start writing code, one way to do that is look at existing bugreports in haiku (http://dev.haiku-os.org), haikuports (http://github.com/haikuports) or applications from haikuarchives (http://github.com/haikuarchi

another thing that can give a good starting point for first patches is looking at work in progress on the code review tool (http://review.haiku-os.org), there are a lot of unfinished patches there that need some reworking (sometimes it's just some code formatting problems, sometimes it's deeper issues). You can pick one of these, read the review comments, and submit an updated version of the patch
<PulkoMandy>
certainly getting our list of work in progress patches a bit shorter would be very welcome

apparently the client side (what you would put in a BTextView) is open source, but the server side isn't. So it's a matter of rewriting that? And integrating the client side in Haiku or in applications

is/isn't ?

PulkoMandy, thanks for keeping your promise to have a look at StreamRadio
<PulkoMandy>
I only did brief testing. No crashes but also no audio output, I'm not sure if it's again a soundcard driver acting strange, or a problem in the app
<Vidrep_64>
If I build now from the haikuports recipe, it should include the latest code, correct?
<B2IA>
(AGMS) And of course, spent the last half hour trying to get Git to access Gerrit. SSH key problems, doesn't seem to know the key I set (no mutual signature algorithm).
<B2IA>
(AGMS) Anyone know what type of ssh key it needs from ssh-keygen?
<PulkoMandy>
Vidrep_64, I didn't update the recipe, so no, it won't be included there
<PulkoMandy>
AGMS, I don't know, I have an old RSA key that seems to work. At the time I thnk I just ran ssh-keygen without any specific arguments
<Vidrep_64>
So I have to build directly from the HaikuArchives
<PulkoMandy>
I probably should replace it
<PulkoMandy>
yes
<B2IA>
(AGMS) Doesn't like the default one. Or maybe my SSH client is too new and I have to reenable older signing algorithms.
<PulkoMandy>
seems strange
<Vidrep_64>
Building from the haikuports recipe I get this, "HttpUtils.h:12:10: fatal error: HttpRequest.h: No such file or directory"
<Vidrep_64>
I'll try directly now from HaikuArchives
<PulkoMandy>
AGMS: internet search suggests ssh-keygen -t rsa to force RSA. I don't know what other key types are supported by Gerrit
<Guest5446>
Vidrep_64: likely because of netapi changes
<PulkoMandy>
not even sure if it's specifically gerrit or the ssh access we put in front of it. Maybe kallisti5 would know?
<Vidrep_64>
Guest5446, yes, those changes were made in HaikuArchives already
<B2IA>

Begasus, that's something I've always seen with certain stations
<Begasus>
it worked earlier on that station Vidrep_64
<Vidrep_64>
Begasus, we should discuss with humdinger about a revision bump. StreamRadio has been in a broken state in HaikuDepot for over a year
<Begasus>
yeah, didn't notice the changes before I saw your comment earlier here Vidrep_64
<Vidrep_64>
Begasus, I also have stations that used to work, but don't work afterward for whatever reason. It's always been like that
<Vidrep_64>
Possibly because the station changed something
<Begasus>
Could be Vidrep_64 most important thing, it's working again! :D
