has anyone attempted to add haiku support to the rtmidi library? can't seem to find anything searching. thinking about giving it a stab. it was really easy getting midi wired up in my synth with the midi2 library

Could someone explain me why we have 3 possibility for boot sector : mbr.S (writembr) bootman.S (BootManager) and stage1.nasm (boot/platform/bios_ia32) ?
Huggy has joined #haiku
mishima has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<waddlesplash>
they have different purposes
<waddlesplash>
bootman is a boot manager, it displays a menu of bootable partitions (can include non Haiku ones)
<waddlesplash>
mbr.S is a master boot record, looks for the first Haiku partition and loads the stage1 nasm
<waddlesplash>
stage1.nasm reads through the partition, finds the haiku loader, and loads it
<Anarchos>
waddlesplash ok, but as haiku is the only OS installed on this drive, its MBR is equal to bootman.S
<Anarchos>
waddlesplash so it "works" as mbr.S but it "shouldn't"
<waddlesplash>
no, that's fine, I think
<Anarchos>
waddlesplash yes, but i am feared not to see a cli in bootman.S :)

jessicah: the speed_dreams game has migrated to sdl2_mixer for the next release, as it fixes some issues with the music, so I may be able to offer some help with your issue (at least with additional testing)
<beaglejoe>
I have built it from subversion, the music works but is choppy? (ogg files btw)
<jessicah>
this is with MIDI support
<jessicah>
that isn't working

IIRC, there is something called GUS that needs to be added, or timidity support

could you please stop posting random dropboxes for haiku packages and instead just show the patches you are trying to do...?
<cocobean>
For what? Users?
<Anarchos>
jessicah to look where ?
<nephele>
Anarchos: in the left sidebar there is a link to cgit
<jessicah>
cgit seems to not be working
<nephele>
cocobean: Why should users care? This is a development version, what's the point of asking people to test fixes you do if you literally don't share what the fix is?
<jessicah>
Anarchos: 55594
<Anarchos>
nephele is cgit the same as a CI server building the hrev ?
<cocobean>
There are many recipes/patches laying around but if someone wants to test them.... howso without a build setup?
<nephele>
cgit can tell you which hrevs tag which git commits
<nephele>
cocobean: "I tested some random dropbox package" is not a ticket that will be accepted, it is pointless to ask to test like this
<cocobean>
Well... let us focus on other matters...
<cocobean>
Not random package... The samew package built from github.
<cocobean>
haikuwebkit github.. any questions.. look there.
<nephele>
It is random, you didn't share anything about what you did
<Anarchos>

"haikuwebkit 1.8.2"

Can't be true, you just said it is a development version
Anarchos has quit [Quit: reboots to test the fix on intel_extreme affecting my laptop]
<cocobean>
Is it now 1.8.3 (he versioning is not fixed in WebPositive)
<cocobean>
(only for nightly)
<nephele>
haikuwebkit versioning has nothing to do with WebPositive
<cocobean>
Oh..... WebPsiitive 1.2-a vs WebPostive 1.3a ??
<cocobean>
What defines haikuwebkit 1.8.3 release ? When?
<nephele>
When PulkoMandy sais so
<cocobean>
Right
<cocobean>
But, I get your point... ket us move on.
<cocobean>
(let)
<cocobean>
The snapshot shows the commit is was taken from.
<cocobean>
That is all.
<cocobean>
Others can just get the package from HaikuDepot when available.
